Sunita Ahuja Again Reacts To Her Divorce Rumours With Govinda, 'Tu Zyada Bol Raha Hai...'

Govinda ruled Bollywood in the '80s and '90s with his flawless performances, unmatched comic timing and charismatic films like Partner, Sandwich, and Hero. No 1, Coolie No.1, Raja Babu and more. He was often linked with his co-actresses until the actor announced he is married to Sunita Ahuja. The couple have been together for over 37 years, but their relationship has recently been under the spotlight for some wrong reasons. Earlier this year, the rumours of a possible divorce between Sunita and Govinda after nearly four decades of togetherness stunned fans but Sunita brushed it off. However, their separate public appearances have left fans curious, and now, the star wife has responded to the buzz again in her unique style. 

Sunita Ahuja reacts to her divorce buzz with Govinda

Sunita Ahuja, known for her upfront, no-nonsense attitude, recently sat for a conversation with Instant Bollywood. During the chat, she was asked about her separation buzz with her husband, Govinda, which has taken the spotlight in Bollywood for a month. In her response, Sunita gave a witty response by calling out the journalist and added that he was going too ahead in the conversation. In her words: 

“Tu Zyada Hi Bol Raha Hai Beta.”

Taking a serious approach, Sunita revealed that such rumours don't bother her anymore. She explained that she had already said that until people heard anything directly from her, they shouldn't react or believe any news swirling in the media. At last, the star wife mentioned that it is all mere speculation in the media. Explaining her views, Sunita said:

“Mere ko koi farak nahi padhta koi bhi news aajaye. Maine pehle bhi bola hai jab tak hamare mou se nahi sunoge, koi bhi news ko react mat karna. Jab tak hum nai mou khole, baadme sab gole hie gole"

Sunita Ahuja asked the media to 'zip it up' when they asked about Govinda 

Sunita Ahuja was recently spotted with her children, Yashvardan Ahuja and Tina Ahuja, at Bombay Fashion Week, where her daughter walked the ramp. She cheered for Tina with her son, and later, the mother-son duo graced the stage and posed for the media. When the star's wife came on stage, photographers quickly asked her about Govinda's whereabouts. But Sunita stunned everyone by asking them to 'zip it up' with her gesture. She even sarcastically commented on whether she should give his address to those who want to know about the Raja Babu actor. However, later, in a conversation with IANS, she praised Govinda's fashion and left everyone confused by her contrasting behaviour. She said:

"Whatever trend is initiated by the stars, it is followed by the people. Back in the day, whatever Govinda used to wear, it used to suit him. Even now, young actors such as Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh are following in his footsteps regarding fashion. Govinda is a class Hero."

Govinda and Sunita met when she was 15, and he was a couple of years older than her at a family function. Soon, they connected and fell in love before the tying knot on March 11, 1987. They kept their marriage under wraps until their daughter, Tina Ahuja, was born in 1989 to protect Govinda's growing career in Bollywood. The couple later welcomed a son, Yashvardan Ahuja, in 1997, who will soon debut in Bollywood. In February 2025, some media reports suggested that the duo had filed for a divorce after 38 years of marriage. Govinda was silent about it, but his lawyer, Lalit Bindal, confirmed that Sunita did file for divorce but added that the couple were now back together.
