Sunita Ahuja Says Govinda Is Not A Good Husband, 'Cheat Karte Ho, That's Not Right...'

Veteran Bollywood actor, Govinda, and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been a topic of discussion on social media for some time now. In August 2025, rumours were rife that the beloved couple is set to go their separate ways and has already filed for divorce. As the speculations brought in unwanted attention to Govinda's family, Sunita refuted the rumours. However, she has spoken time and again about the ups and downs of their relationship, which are common in any long-standing marriage. Recently, Sunita revealed that both she and Govinda have made mistakes in their lives and also gave her two cents on infidelity.

Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, weighed in on cheating

Sunita Ahuja recently shared her views on cheating in a relationship, during her chat with Pinkvilla, stating that neither emotional nor physical infidelity is acceptable in a relationship and that such behaviour goes against core family values. Her comments were amid circulating rumours of her husband, Govinda's alleged affair. When asked to compare emotional and physical cheating, she said, "Why do you want to do either of these things? It's not right. Our parents didn't give us such values."

Sunita emphasised her emotional nature, saying that if someone betrayed her emotionally, whether it was her children or her husband, Govinda, it would deeply hurt her. According to her, cheating is 'not a good thing' and any form of infidelity is absolutely unacceptable. She said:

"Aap emotionally ek insaan ko pyaar karte ho. Phir baad mein aap usko cheat karte ho, that's not right. Kyunki dekhiye, main bahut emotional hoon. Like I love Govinda to my death. Aur emotionally mujhe koi bhi dhokha de, chahe mere bachche ho, mera pati ho, I get very hurt. Emotionally kisi ko mat kaho, it's not good yaar."

Sunita also made a shocking revelation; she might have at times considered her life a burden, and she was alive only because of her love for her children, Tina and Yashvardan Ahuja. Sunita also addressed her that it was tough for an ordinary woman to be the wife of a superstar. According to her, one has to become stone-hearted to have a happy married life with a celebrity. Her exact words were:

"See, woh [Govinda] hero hain. Unka main kya bolun, wife log se zyada woh heroines ke saath time bitate hain. It takes you to become a very strong woman to be a star's wife. Aapko dil pathar ka banana padta hai. It took me 38 years of marriage to realize it. Jawani mein pata nahi tha.”

Sunita Ahuja would not want to be Govinda's wife if there was a choice

During the conversation with Pinkvilla, Sunita was asked if she would like to marry Govinda again in her next life. She sternly refuted, saying that she didn't want him as her husband again. She explained that while he was a perfect son and a good brother, he was not a good husband. Sunita was okay with Govinda being born to her as her son in the next life, but not as her husband. Sunita shared:

"Mujhe nahi chahiye. Maine toh pehle hi bata diya tha. Govinda is a very good son, he is a very good brother, but not a husband. Agle janam tu mera beta banke paida hona, pati toh tu nahi chahiye. Saath janam toh bhool jao, yeh janam hi kaafi hai."

Sunita Ahuja on her children being her best friends

Sunita Ahuja has stated that her children, Tina and Yashvardhan, are her best friends. She has mentioned that she does not believe in outside friendships and finds all the companionship she needs in her family, particularly her son and daughter. Sunita expressed how close she is to them, sharing that Tina and Yashvardhan often take her out to dinner. It reflected her enduring bond with her children, whom she has always prioritised over everything else in her life.
