Sunita Ahuja Once Shared Govinda's Reaction During Their Daughter, Tina's Birth: 'Jab Delivery Ka..'

The industry was left stunned on February 25, 2025, when reports of veteran actor, Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s divorce buzz flooded the internet. The couple, known for their rock-solid bond for nearly four decades, suddenly found themselves at the centre of controversy. While speculation continues, an old interview of Sunita Ahuja has resurfaced, revealing deeply personal moments from her past, especially about her experiences with motherhood.

Amid divorce rumours with Govinda, a clip from Sunita's interview has been making rounds online. In an old chat with Hauterrfly, Sunita reminisced about the time she gave birth to their first child, Tina Ahuja. For those unaware, Sunita had Tina when she was only 19 years old. Recalling the time of her delivery, she revealed how Govinda’s hectic work schedule barely gave him time to be by her side during her delivery. She shared:

“When I was delivering Tina, tab mujhe yaad hai iska (Govinda) paanch shift tha. Har shift ke baad aata tha hospital. Jab delivery ka waqt nazdeek aaya na, to wo nazdeek raste se shoot karta tha. Jhatak se aana padta hai na. ‘(Delivery) ho gaya kya?’ I was like, ‘Pain ho raha hai, aayega ab, ya aayegi, aayegi’.”

In the same interview, Sunita also spoke about how motherhood completely consumed her, leaving her with little time to focus on her husband, Govinda, or his absence for that matter. She shared:

“Jab bacche paida hote the tab wo cahiye hi nahi tha. I told you na, mujhe bacche bohot pasand hai, to main apna pura time, main kabhi apne bacchon ko naukar waukar ko sambhale nahi diya. Mujhe ye baat pasand nahi hai, or main Tina ko bhi yehi samjhati hu. Apne bacchein apne haath se paalo. Naukar the, meri mother-in-law ne do do naukar rakha tha, but mujhe na wo log hygienic nahi lagte the. Main hi unka bottle dhona, nappy karna, ye karna, to mera time hi nikal jaata tha usmein. Mujhe pata hi nahi chalta tha ki ye shooting pe gaya hai, aaya hai, ye sab.”

Sunita Ahuja on the heartbreaking loss of her second child

Amid the buzz surrounding their relationship, another tragic revelation from Sunita’s past has resurfaced from the same interview — her heartbreaking loss of her second child, who passed away due to medical complications. Speaking to the host, Siddhaarth Aalambayan, Sunita shared:

“I was in a very bad condition at that time. She was born in eight months, but we lost her after three months. I was travelling too much with Govinda. I didn’t know much because my first delivery went very smoothly. I did not know that I shouldn’t have done heavy lifting, so I carried heavy chocolate bags from Singapore, and my water burst when I reached Mumbai.”

As reports of Govinda and Sunita's alleged split continue to make waves, conflicting statements have only added to the confusion. Govinda’s manager recently claimed that while the couple did file for divorce six months ago, things have since been resolved and they are still together. Meanwhile, Sunita’s manager has dismissed the divorce rumours entirely, claiming that he speculations have no truth.
