Sunjay Kapur Case: Karisma's Lawyer Dares Priya To Disclose The Rs. 30K Cr Will, 'If It's Genuine..'

The Delhi High Court is currently looking into the plea filed by Bollywood actress, Karisma Kapoor and late businessman, Sunjay Kapur's two children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj. The kids sought the court for a share in their father's estate, which is estimated to be around Rs. 30,000 crore. While the court was adjourned until the next hearing on October 9, 2025, the lawyers representing the involved parties are working diligently on behalf of their clients. And now, Karisma Kapoor's lawyer, Mahesh Jethmalani, has dismissed the Rs. 1,900 crore claim and demanded full asset disclosure.

Karisma Kapoor's lawyer slams Priya Sachdev's 'rubbish' offer

A heated inheritance battle has erupted following the death of Sunjay Kapur. The businessman passed away on June 12, 2025, and left behind an inheritance worth Rs. 30,000 crore. However, after his death, a new will emerged, which has led his and Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira and Kiaan, to file a civil suit in the Delhi High Court for a share in the will that left everything to his third wife, Priya Sachdeva.

The first session of the case was held on September 10, 2025, and the lawyers for both parties are working diligently to present their respective cases. The dispute has reached the court, and the spotlight is now firmly on Sunjay's widow, Priya Sachdev, who is accused of withholding key details regarding the estate. The legal team representing Kiaan and Samaira has strongly refuted Priya Sachdev's claim that the two minors are being allotted Rs. 1,900 crore from their father's estate.

Now, speaking to Republic TV, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani has slammed the claim. He told the news agency that Sunjay Kapur's estate is worth Rs. 30,000, and they are only getting Rs. 1,900 crores. He added that there are only five class one heirs to the businessman, and if the will presented is as genuine as Priya and her lawyers are claiming it to be, they should not have any issue in disclosing it. He was quoted as saying:

"If the estate is Rs. 30,000 crore and they are only getting Rs. 1,900 crore....actually, there are only five class one heirs – mother, 3 children and Priya – why is she not disclosing the will, if it’s genuine. The children are not getting whatever they are getting at the mercy of Mrs Kapur. These are assets of Sunjay Kapur; nobody is doing us a favour."

Karisma Kapoor's lawyer claims that the actress just wants to ensure her children's future is secure

During the same conversation, Mahesh Jethmalani emphasised that Karisma Kapoor herself is not a beneficiary in this lawsuit. He added that the entire litigation is focused on ensuring that Sunjay Kapur's children are secured, exactly as the late industrialist's intentions were reportedly outlined in a trust deed. He was quoted as saying:

"Karisma Kapoor doesn’t want anything for herself, the entire aim of this litigation is to secure her children in the manner in which her late ex-husband wanted them to be secure, which is as per a trust deed, which dealt with his assets in India, his corporate assets in India, and by and large his assets abroad, for which there was a will, which was never disclosed and neither has been a subject matter of probate, nor is it registered."
