For the unversed, Sunjay has left for the heavenly abode on June 12, 2025. His last rites were performed on June 19, 2025, in New Delhi. Now, an unseen picture of the late polo player, Sunjay, with his sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, has gone viral. It was Sunjay’s sister, Mandhira, who shared the unseen happy selfie with her brother on June 19, 2025.

Taking to her Instagram handle on June 19, 2025, Sunjay’s sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, shared an unseen happy selfie with her brother. The picture also featured Superna Kapur Motwane. Sharing the old selfie, Mandhira wrote an emotional caption, which states that she is missing him a lot. The caption can be read as:

"We are incomplete without you."

The untimely demise of Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay, on June 12, 2025, is both shocking and saddening at the same time. According to multiple reports, Sunjay swallowed a bee in the middle of his game, which stung his windpipe and ultimately led to a cardiac arrest. The tragic incident took place when he was playing polo in the UK. What’s more shocking is that the deceased also made a tweet on the horrific Ahmedabad plane crash.

For the unversed, the horrific Air India plane crash took place on the same day on June 12, 2025 and claimed more than 265 innocent lives. On June 19, 2025, Sunjay’s last rites were performed in New Delhi. Both Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay's ex-wife, and Priya Sachdev, Sunjay's third wife, attended his funeral. While Karisma attended the funeral with her kids, Samaira and Kiaan, Priya marked her attendance with her son, Azarias. Karisma’s sister and Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, also marked their attendance in Sunjay’s funeral.

Sunjay Kapur was a UK-based Indian businessman and was born to Rani Kapur and the late Surinder Kapur. Sunjay’s father, Surinder, was the founder of Sona Comstar. Back in 2003, he took over his father’s company, Sona Comstar, and took the company to the global automotive space. Besides being a business tycoon, Sunjay was a polo enthusiast and shared a close bond with Prince William. The polo enthusiast had three marriages. 

He first tied the knot with Nandita Mahatani in 1996, who is an acclaimed fashion designer. Later, after his divorce from Nandita in 2000, Sunjay married Karisma Kapoor, the famous Bollywood actress. The couple also welcomed two kids, Samaira and Kiaan. But this marriage also didn’t work well, and thus, the duo got divorced in 2016. Meanwhile, in 2012, Sunjay met Priya Sachdev. Soon, love blossomed between the two, and then in 2017, Sunjay tied the knot with Priya after dating for 5 years. Their marriage was a hush-hush event in the presence of near and dear ones.
