Sunjay Kapur, one of the well-known industrialists, passed away on June 12, 2025. It was a few hours before his demise that he took to his X (Twitter) and dropped a note while expressing his grief for the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Sunjay was playing polo when he suffered a heart attack and couldn't survive. After a significant delay in his funeral for his US citizenship, Sunjay's mortal remains were brought back to India 7 days after his demise, and his funeral took place on June 19, 2025, following his prayer meeting on June 22, 2025.
Earlier, reports claimed that Sunjay Kapur's prayer meet notice didn't feature the names of his sisters, Superna Motwane and Mandhira Kapur. For the unversed, Mandhira and Sunjay had a legal dispute between them. Now, Mandhira regretted the same, as she lost her brother forever. Recently, Sunjay's sister took to her social media handle and penned down a note, as she regretted not fixing their broken bond, before it became too late. She posted several throwback photos, featuring all three siblings in their childhood days. With the photos, she penned a long note to bare her heart out.
Addressing that she and her brother had some issues between them over the last few years, Mandhira mentioned that while she hadn't spoken to him for the last 4 years, the memories they shared would always remain the same. Stating the reason for their broken bond, Mandhira mentioned that it was mostly due to their sibling quarrel escalating to the peak level due to egos. In Mandhira's words:
"My brother and I may not have spoken for the last 4 years, a silly sibling squabble escalated to crazy levels due to egos and natural bullishness, however, that will never take back what we were and what we had."
Mandhira Kapur further walked down the memory lane and recalled sweet memories of their childhood. She stated how Sunjay always looked after her and their other sister like a big brother and a true friend. She went on to add that whatever had happened was horrible, and revealed being heartbroken for not fixing what had been broken. She stated that she is sure that, despite what had happened, her brother surely knew that she loved him, and shared the same hope as her that they would be together again just like before. Mandhira turned emotional and said that she thinks her brother is now with their dad and that they will meet each other again, but differently. Mandhira penned:
"What happened towards the end has been both horrible and pointless, I will never have my moments with him again. We will never be us and it is devastating that we didn’t fix what had become broken and so now my heart is the same. I am sure he knew despite our recent estrangement that I loved him and in my soul I am sure he shared the same hope as I, that one day we would be as amazing as we were for the first 47 years. Of this I am sure and take some small comfort."
In the concluding section of her heartbreaking note, Mandhira Kapur shared that people should not wait to fix the broken bridges with someone they have love and respect for, as life is unpredictable. She further stated that she would do anything just to see her brother once more and to tell him how much he mattered to her. Mandhira Kapur's note is truly haunting in a loving way, and it speaks volumes about her love for him. It was Sunjay's first wife, Nandita, who reacted to Mandhira's post.
