No sooner had the report about Priya and Safira changing their surnames made rounds on social media, than netizens started reacting to the same. While some supported Priya and Safira, others slammed them. One user penned, "But Sunjay had officially adopted Safira as his daughter. So she’s entitled to her share of his property." Another post reads, "Property pe haq toh biological bacchon ka hi banta hai. Also, Priya's first daughter's father himself is super rich."

On Instagram, people have also been sharing their opinions about the buzz surrounding Safira changing her surname. However, there is no confirmation to claim that Safira has changed her surname. Her Instagram bio doesn't mention either 'Chatwal' or 'Kapur'. Priya is yet to react to the buzz around, and she hasn't issued any statement about her husband's demise till now.
