Sunny Deol Misses Father, Dharmendra During Event Of 'Border 2', 'Papa Jaise Ek Film Karunga..'

Actor, Sunny Deol is all set for his upcoming film, Border 2. Recently, during a special event of the film held in Jaisalmer, Sunny Deol was visibly emotional as he missed his late father, Dharmendra. For those who do not know, he was attending the launch of the song, Ghar Kab Aaoge. During the same, he shared how one of Dharmendra's films inspired him to do Border. 

Sunny Deol was inspired by Dharmendra’s film, Haqeeqat

During the event and song launch of the film, Border 2, Sunny Deol opened up about his inspiration to do Border. It is worth mentioning that Sunny Deol opted for a simple outfit. He shared that when he was young, he watched his father’s film, Haqeeqat and then he decided to do a similar film like that. Towards the end, he also mentioned that he won’t be able to say much as he is getting emotional. Sunny Deol was quoted as saying:

"Maine Border ki thi kyunki jab maine apne papa ki film Haqeeqat dekhi thi, woh mujhe bahut pyaari lagi thi. Tab main bahut chhota tha. Jab main actor bana, tab maine tay kiya ki main bhi papa jaise ek film karunga. JP Dutta saab ke saath maine baat ki, aur hum dono ne decide kiya ki hum iss subject par ek film banayenge, jo bohot hi pyaara hai aur aap sab ke dilon mein basa hua hai. Main zyada kuch nhi bol paaunga, mera dimaag hila hua hai..."

Sunny Deol reveals he has met soldiers, who joined Army after watching his film

During the same event in Jaisalmer, Sunny Deol also opened up about how he has met multiple soldiers, who have told him that they joined the Indian Army after watching him in the film, Border. For the unversed, Sunny Deol’s 1997 film, Border was directed by J.P. Dutta. It starred Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt, Tabu and more. When the film was released, it received a lot of appreciation from audiences. Even today, after decades, viewers consider it an iconic film.

When Sunny Deol got emotional missing Dharmendra during the special event of Ikkis

A few days ago, Sunny and Bobby Deol hosted a private screening for their late father, Dharmendra’s last film, Ikkis. During the same, Sunny Deol got emotional seeing Dharmendra’s poster and told the paparazzi that he will pose along with that. The actor was seen trying hard to control his tears as he missed his late father.

His tragic death on November 24, 2025, shocked the entire nation.
