Sunny Deol is one of the most promising actors of the Hindi film industry. Following his father, Dharmendra's footsteps, the actor has made a name for himself in the film industry. For the unversed, he made his acting debut with the film, Betaab in 1983. Later, he went on to work in blockbuster films like Indian, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Ghayal, Apne, Darr, Border, Damini and many more. Moreover, currently, the actor is bagging immense success for his recently released film, Gadar 2.
In the latest conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Sunny Deol opened up about his childhood. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that he was dyslexic in his younger days. The actor also mentioned that he used to get beaten up as people didn't understand his problem, rather they thought that he was not good at studies. Elaborating more about it, Sunny said:

"Mai dyslexic tha. Par us waqat kisi ko kya pata dyslexic kya hota hai hamari umar me, that time. Thapad padte the duffer hai padai ni aandi."

Further, in the same conversation, Sunny revealed that even now, he feels difficulty in reading and writing. The actor added that he often refused to read from teleprompters on the sets and preferred to deliver his dialogue on his own because of the problem of dyslexia. In his words:
"Abhi bhi main likhna padne me woh ho jata hu like words mereko kuch aur dikhte the. Mujhe kitni baar bolte hai teleprompter, mai bolta hu mujhe teleprompter mat do, mujhe bta do mai koshis karunga baat karne ki."
When asked about whether being dyslexic was a struggle for him in childhood, Sunny revealed another lesser-known fact about himself. Answering the question, the actor revealed that despite being dyslexic, his IQ level was good in childhood. Mentioning how he used to stay away from talking publicly in the initial years of his career, Sunny said:
"Mera IQ bahut high that. I had a very high IQ because school me unhone test kiya and my IQ was over 160 or something. Mujhe takleef hoti hai isliye main kitni baar kahi jau bhi to main jyada bolne se initially, suru mein kahi mujhe mic pakda dete mai sochunga ki bolu kya."

Dyslexia is a learning disorder which includes difficulty in reading. People who have dyslexia find it difficult to learn to read because they cannot identify speech sounds. Dyslexic people often make mistakes while reading. Along with reading, dyslexia can impact other skills such as writing, and solving maths, etc.
In one of his earlier interviews with Bollywood Hungama, Sunny had opened up about hiking his fees per film to Rs. 50 crores after Gadar 2 became a hit on the silver screen. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that financial matters are personal to everyone, including him. Elaborating more about it, Sunny said:
"First of all, I feel money matters are very personal. No one shares exactly what he or she earns, even to the close ones. Secondly, what I charge or don’t charge will be decided when I sign my next film. Right now, we are all trying to process of enormity of the success of Gadar 2."
