Sunny Leone, a.k.a Karenjit Kaur Vohra is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. She started her career with adult films, however, later, she left the industry and moved back to India with her husband, Daniel Weber. Undoubtedly, the diva has come a long way in her career from where she had started, as she has worked in some popular films like Ragini MMS 2, One Night Stand, Jism 2, Oh My Ghost, and many more. Recently, the actress opened up about her mother's alcoholism and revealed how her career in adult films triggered it. For the unversed, Sunny lost her mother in 2008, even before she made her acting debut in Bollywood.
In an interview with Mid-day’s Sit With Hitlist series, Sunny Leone opened up about her mother's alcoholism. Talking about the same, the actress revealed that her mother had started drinking much before she made her career in adult films. The actress elaborated that her mother's addiction created a lot of problems in their house. Mentioning how she often thought that her mother loved alcohol more than her, Sunny said:

"She’s started drinking long before that. We went through a lot of crazy in our house because of this addiction. It was sad because you always want to think that your mother loves you more than alcohol but it wasn’t about that. It was that it was an addiction. It was something psychologically that needed to be repaired from the inside. It had nothing to do with me or with my brother or with my father."

Further, in her interview, Sunny admitted that her career in adult films triggered her mother's addiction to alcohol. From reaching home late to doing something that her mother didn't like, her actions were trigger points for the latter. Elaborating more on it, Sunny said:
"So was I a trigger? Most definitely. It didn’t matter what I did, whether it was me coming home late or maybe doing something that you didn’t like, it was a trigger. And then when this happened, it was the stamp trigger."
Earlier, in interaction with Mid-day’s Sit With Hitlist series, Sunny had opened up about her stage name and revealed why her mother hated it. Talking about the same, the actress shared that she decided her stage name, Sunny, in a hurry. It so happened that she was busy in her part-time job when a magazine in the US interviewed her and asked her stage name. Further in the interview, Sunny revealed that her stage name belonged to her brother, whose real name is Sandeep Singh, but the family called him 'Sunny'. She also mentioned that her mom was disappointed with her after she picked her brother's name as her stage name. In her words:
"Sunny is my brother's nickname. His name is Sandeep Singh, we call him Sunny. My mom hated that I named myself Sunny. She said, 'Out of all the names, that's the one you pick?' I was like, yeah, it's just what came to my mind… And then the magazine picked the last name and I just kept it."
