Superman is here, and as expected, there's a lot of noise, buzz, congratulations, and of course, controversies. First things first, James Gunn has succeeded in restoring DC fanatics' long-lost confidence and hope in DC movies. After a series of major disappointments in the DCEU and everything that had happened with Zack Snyder, the DC fans were keeping their expectations low for this one. However, James Gunn has once again proved the mettle of his cinematic genius as the casting of David Corenswet as 'Superman' has impressed cinephiles.
Initially, there was a huge backlash over the casting of David Corenswet as hardcore DC fans were still rooting for Henry Cavill's return. However, by the end of 2022, when Henry Cavill confirmed that he would not be returning as 'Clark Kent' after all, people were forced to move on and accept the arrival of Corenswet. For the uninitiated, James Gunn's Superman is the first film in DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The film is off to a flying start as Deadline reported that Superman has netted around USD 21 million-plus in previews.
Not only this, but James Gunn's film has a 95 per cent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a record audience score. Amidst all the positives surrounding Superman, a growing political tension has emerged, and to address it, Nathan Fillion, who is playing 'Green Lantern' in the film, has come forward. For the uninitiated, during the promotions of the film, Superman's director, James Gunn, repeatedly labelled the superhero as an immigrant or refugee. In response to the same, the right-wing politicians have slammed the director for turning a movie into a political symbol.
In a conversation with Variety, Nathan Fillion responded to criticism from MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement followers with a cool response and a little laugh. He said, "Aw, somebody needs a hug. Just a movie, guys." Netizens liked Nathan's response to the unnecessary negativity around the film. Moving on to Nathan's role in the film, the actor is getting a lot of love on the internet because he has been voicing 'Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern' in various animated DC movies. For James Gunn's Superman movie, Nathan played the character of 'Guy Gardner', who is often regarded as the backup of 'Hal Jordan' on Earth
Nathan Fillion is a popular Hollywood actor who is best known for portraying the character, 'Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds' in the drama series, Firefly and Serenity. Some of his best acting performances were in the television series and films, including One Life to Live, Desperate Housewives, Waitress, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Castle, and many more.

Talking about his personal life, the 54-year-old actor isn't dating anyone right now. However, in the past, we have seen him being linked with a series of actresses. The first major relationship of Nathan's life was with Hollywood actress, Vanessa Marcil. The couple dated each other in the 1990s, and after being in a relationship for eight months, they got engaged. However, after a year, they parted ways citing personal relationship reasons.
After his broken engagement with Vanessa Marcil, Nathan Fillion fell in love with another Hollywood diva, Perry Reeves, from 2005 to 2009. Nathan and Perry ended their relationship after dating each other for four years without giving away many details about their split. The next lady that came into Nathan's life was Mikaela Hoover, and the couple got engaged in 2013 after dating each other for some time.
Unfortunately, once again, things broke off in the following year. After two broken engagements, Nathan Fillion was linked with Krista Allen and Stana Katic, but those alleged relationships never materialised into something serious. As a result, Nathan is single at the age of 54, despite dating so many divas in his life. In an old interview with Women's Health back in 2010, Nathan Fillion jokingly described his love life as "unlucky in love", and unfortunately, nothing changed about that statement.
What are your thoughts on Nathan Fillion's acting performance in 'Superman' and these anecdotes related to his personal life? Let us know.
