Actors, Surbhi Chandna and Karan Sharma are total relationship goals for all the couples out there. The love birds courted each other for nearly fourteen long years before finally tying the knot in March 2024. And now they are gearing up for yet another big event, as they are about to celebrate their very first Karwa Chauth tomorrow, on October 20, 2024.
The much-in-love couple recently did an exclusive interview with HT City and revealed some tidbits about their excitement for the festivities. Confessing that she had never fasted for Karan in the almost 14 years they dated, she said:

“We have dated for almost 14 years, and I have never done a fast for him. And for Punjabis, the celebrations are grand. So, I am excited.”
Surbhi then quipped that she was nervous at the same time as she loved food. But an even more pressing concern for her was whether she would be able to manage without water the whole day. Karan, in turn, joked about doing something different this Karwa Chauth by eating a lot of food together instead. On a more serious note, he added:
“I respect the ritual and the tradition and I feel special that she is doing this for me. Above that, she is enjoying it and not just doing for the sake of it.”
Surbhi’s idea of the perfect Karwa Chauth seemingly involves a blend of old and new traditions. The actress spoke about a few customs she had picked up from how her mother would celebrate the occasion for her father. One such custom was the preparation of parathas and aloo gobi ki sabji for the sargi ritual. According to Surbhi, waking up early and eating this meal together was mandatory at her home.

Now, Surbhi wants to keep that meaningful tradition alive with her husband, Karan. She further stated that she was eager to do the shringar to earn some compliments from her doting hubby. Speaking about how they would add a personal touch to the festivities, the couple elaborated on the new traditions they wanted to implement. In Surbhi’s words:
“We want to make our own new traditions on Karwa Chauth. Why should a man only give a gift to the woman? We’ll change that, and I will give a gift to Karan this Karwa Chauth.”
For the unversed, Surbhi Chandna and Karan Sharma tied the knot just this year in March 2024. However, the dreamy duo’s love story dates all the way back to 2010, when they hit it off immediately. Their friendship quickly blossomed into a romance that lasted the test of time for fourteen years. Adorably, when Surbhi uploaded her wedding pictures, she captioned it, “Finally Home after 13 years.”
