Born on November 19, 1975, into a Bengali Baidya family in Hyderabad, Sushmita Sen is the daughter of the former Indian Air Force Wing Commander, Shubeer Sen and Subhra Sen, a jewellery designer. As a teenager, Sushmita had participated in the Femina Miss India contest in 1994 at the age of 18, and had won the title to enter the race of Miss Universe 1994 pageant.
After several rounds and preliminaries, Sushmita Sen was crowned as Miss Universe 1994 pageant. She was the first Indian to win the prestigious title and had left a massive mark on the international stage. Sushmita has also worked in several films, and some of the most notable movies are Biwi No. 1, Sirf Tum, Filhaal, Aankhen, Main Hoon Na, and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?
