Sushmita Sen has always been an inspiration for many with her ideologies and the way she has been leading her life. Recently, Sushmita opened up about the misconception that there is an 'imbalance' in the lives of her daughters, Renee and Alisah because of the absence of a father. For the unversed, Sushmita adopted her first daughter as a single mother at the age of 24, and later in 2010, she adopted another baby girl.
Sushmita is soon going to be seen in Ravi Jadhav's biopic on transgender activist, Shreegauri Sawant. In an interview with ETimes, Sushmita expressed her opinion on the importance of fathers in a child's life. While she agreed with the role of a father on a child, she cleared the air that there is no 'imbalnce' in the lives of her daughters due to the absence of one. She was quoted as saying:
"Like everything else in life, you don’t miss what you never had."

From the very beginning of her career, Sushmita never paid any heed to gossip and rumours. In the same interview, Sushmita shared that while she is unaffected by mean and derogatory comments on her social media posts, her daughters say that her casual attitude is the 'problem'. Sushmita added that nobody but God only can make or break things. Hence, she is not bothered by the people on the internet, and she just blocks those who make mean comments. Sushmita shared her ideology and said:
"Insult that I do not receive, does not belong to me."
Sushmita Sen made India proud by bringing home the Miss Universe Crown in the year 1994. After this, she showed her acting panache in Bollywood. However, her decision to become a mother through adoption at a young age made her win many hearts across the world. Over the years, she also cleared the concept of adoption and called how her children extraordinary as they were born from her heart and not from the womb. Indeed, it was a beautiful explanation of adoption. While her elder daughter, Renee, has followed in her footsteps and entered Bollywood, her younger daughter, Alisah, is still studying.
