The late Irrfan Khan was one of the finest actors in the Indian film industry. He has carved his name on the hearts of millions with his amazing acting skills and pleasant personality. The late actor proved his mettle in acting by working in popular films like Life of Pi, Angrezi Medium, The Lunchbox, Hindi Medium, Piku, Slumdog Millionaire, Billu and many more. However, Irrfan left his massive fanbase shocked after he left the world on April 29, 2020.
In an interview with Mid Day, Sutapa Sikdar opened up about her beautiful equation with her late husband, Irrfan Khan. Talking about the same, she mentioned that their marriage was more of a partnership. Adding how they started their journey as friends, Sutapa said that they remained friends till Irrfan's last breath. Elaborating more about it, she said:

"We discussed everything. Ours was not actually a marriage, it was more of a meeting of minds, a partnership, we were more like friends. We began as friends, we remained friends."

Further, in the same conversation, Sutapa added how she used to feel uncomfortable when Irrfan's friends used to call her bhabhiji. Revealing the reason behind the same, she mentioned that she never saw herself as just an actor's wife. In her words:
"I had a very uncomfortable feeling because in Bollywood everyone calls all actor's wives bhabhiji because I was not that so-called 'Bhabhiji' and I never imagined it in my head."
In the same conversation, Sutapa Sikdar opened up about her son, Babil Khan's film career. Talking about the same, she recalled the first day when her late husband, Irrfan Khan's team, had visited her home to prepare Babil for his shoot. Calling it a 'heartbreaking' moment, Sutapa mentioned that she couldn't bear it. Elaborating more about it, she said:
"The first day when the same team came, the makeup people, he was wearing the same clothes. It was nostalgic, it was heartbreaking. I couldn't bear it."

Earlier, Babil Khan had attended the prestigious IIFA Awards 2023 along with his mother, Sutapa Sikdar as he won the award of 'Best Debut Male' for his film, Qala. During the media interaction, the actor was asked by a reporter about the fondest memory he has of his late father, Irrfan Khan. Answering the same, Babil gave a beautiful reply. He mentioned that his baba was his only friend, and he missed laughing with him. Elaborating more about it, Babil said:
"You know when I was growing up, I didn't have any friends, he was my singular friend. So, I think laughing with him is the fondest memory."
