In the next 3-5 years, Swiggy is pumped up to achieve ground-breaking milestones that will take its value to a different level. In 2024, Swiggy was in the news for several positive reasons. For instance, Swiggy created a Guinness World Record for delivering 11,000 Vada Pavs in a single order distributed to different schools in Mumbai.
According to Swiggy's co-founder, Sriharsha Majety, the company plans to invest a huge sum of money in cloud infrastructure and technology. Not only this, but there will also be a special focus on brand management, debt payment, and inorganic growth. Sriharsha Majety also added that Swiggy plans to open bigger dark spaces of around 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft. Amidst the talks of its future, Swiggy broke the headlines on November 13, 2024, when it was listed on the stock market, adding a new chapter in its journey.

Not only this, Swiggy's 11,327 crore (updated) IPO is also the second-largest public offering of the year 2024 behind Hyundai Motor India's Rs. 27,870 crore IPO. As per the reports, while retail investors subscribed to 1.14 times the allotment, a portion was reserved for Swiggy's employees, which was subscribed to 1.65 times.
After Swiggy's impressive debut on the stock market, its biggest competitor, Zomato congratulated the former that simply broke the internet. Zomato shared a creative that speaks volumes about their healthy competition. Along with the superb graphic, Zomato penned, "You and I… In this beautiful world @Swiggy." Zomato's CEO, Deepinder Goyal reshared the tweet and lauded Swiggy on their historic day. His congratulatory note can be read as:
"Congratulations @Swiggy! Couldn't have asked for a better company to serve India with."
Swiggy was founded in August 2014 by three friends, Sriharsha Majety, Rahul Janimini, and Nandan Reddy. However, only some know that Sriharsha and Nandan are college friends who studied together at IIM Kolkata. Right from their college days, they always used to talk about starting their own company one day. They used to make many plans but weren't alone; there was also another person named Neetha, who was Sriharsha's girlfriend then and now his wife. Sriharsha and Neetha started dating while pursuing their respective degrees at IIM Kolkatta.
When they were dating, Sriharsha Majety told his then-girlfriend, Neetha, about his dream of building his own company. According to some reports, Sriharsha shared the idea of doing something in the courier service or delivering space, and Neetha supported him in bringing his idea to paper. Sriharsha and Nandan Reddy started Bundl, an aggregator for courier services, but they couldn't scale it and eventually closed it. It was when Neetha supported Sriharsha and pushed him to try again. After getting his wife's support, he tried again, and that's how Swiggy came into existence.
During Swiggy's IPO event, the co-founder of the food delivery platform talked about his wife, Neetha Majety. The businessman addressed his wife's contribution to building Swiggy right from scratch. Sriharsha revealed that during his college days at IIM Kolkata, he worked on a college project which was quite similar to what Swiggy is today. Further, in his speech, Sriharsha revealed that he and his wife prefer to spend weekends at home. He said:
"We drink wine and chat during the weekdays and during the weekends, we prefer to stay indoors. None of that will change even after Swiggy becomes a public company."
According to multiple reports, after dating each other for some time, Sriharsha Majety and his college sweetheart, Neetha got married. It is not known whether the couple has any children at this time. Sriharsha and Neetha live far from the reach of the media spotlight, which helps them guard their personal life. Not much is known about the couple and their love story, but Sriharsha never misses a chance to appreciate his wife, Neetha's contribution. We hope they continue to take Swiggy to another level in the coming future.
