Sydney Sweeny's Plastic Surgery Statement Reignited After Kim Novak Said, '...So Much Above Waist'

Famous American actress, Sydney Sweeney's name has been dragged into another controversy. This time, it started after Hollywood veteran, Kim Novak, didn't mince her words before disapproving of her casting as her in the upcoming biopic, Scandalous! The film is directed by Colman Domingo, and it is about Novak's affair.

However, Kim was unhappy with Sydney's portrayal of her character in the film. She claimed that the film will have more sexual appeal than an emotional connection. She went on to attribute Sydney's looks. Read on to know what Kim Novak said!

In an interview with The Sunday Times of London, Kim Novak, who is 93 years old, didn't mince her words before criticising the casting of Sweeney in the planned film about her life. eney in a planned biographical film about her life. She further expressed her concern about Sydney's sex appeal and stated that she 'sticks out so much above the wait'. It was a direct dig at her physical attributes, which are a mismatch to represent the veteran actress's 1950s looks. She said:

"I would've never approved [Sydney Sweeney's casting]. There's no way it wouldn't be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me. She sticks out so much above the waist."

Sydney Sweeney once clarified claims of plastic surgery or cosmetic treatment

Sydney's name has often been dragged into plastic surgery rumours. And people would often dissect her appearances over time, highlighting her changed physical appearance over the years. In 2025, during an interview with Allure, Sydney clarified that she has never gotten a single thing done on herself. She added that she is scared of needles and that there was no way she was going to let it be poked on her skin to get the look. She said:

"Let’s debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done. I am so scared of needles, you have no idea."

Sydney, who has been a child artist, slammed the social media users who often use her old pictures, comparing them with her recent ones to claim she had undergone cosmetic treatment. She added that people use her 12-year-old photo and compare it with her 26-year-old self with professional makeup and lighting. She said:

"You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting! Of course I'm going to look different. Everybody on social media’s insane."

Sydney further added that since she had strong eyebrow muscles, someone told her to fix her face or else she would not be able to make it big in Hollywood. They suggested that she get Botox when she was just 16 years old. She stated that she had never gotten anything done, as she is extremely terrified of needles. She doesn't even have tattoos. Talking about her future plans of getting any work done, Sydney clarified that she is going to age gracefully.
