Disha Vakani used to earn more than Amit Bhatt on TMKOC

Disha Vakani, who played the role of Jethalal's wife and Gujarati homemaker, 'Dayaben', has been a part of the show since its inception. Fans loved her emotional moments, values, dance, and caring nature. But, the actress left the show in 2017 for maternity leave and hasn't returned since then. As the show became popular during her stint, her salary increased to Rs. 1.2 lakh per episode before she left. In a recent conversation with the Indian Express, the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, opened up about Disha's long absence and said:

"We can only pray that Disha Vakani returns; she has family duties. She is like my younger sister; we are like family today. It might be difficult for her to return. I have shortlisted a few people for the role, and you will get to know them soon. It has been five years since she left, and we miss her even today. She was so caring towards her fellow artists as well as the crew. We aim to find someone just like Disha Vakani."
