Ayushmann Khurrana is riding high in life these days owing to his immense success in the Hindil film industry, especially after back to back hits- Andhadhun and Badhai Ho. But all's not a bed of roses for him. His wife, Tahira Kashyap was recently diagnosed with Stage 0 Breast Cancer, and self-admittedly and rightly so, she is a #breastcancerwarrior! Tahira Kashyap was recently in an interview with Film Companion's Anupama Chopra, and she candidly spoke about her battle with cancer, her free and strong spirit in life, her relationship with her husband, and her upcoming professional projects which include a full-length feature film. In the interview, what caught our attention was Tahira's confession about the bitter phase that she and Ayushmann shared post the latter's debut film, Vicky Donor.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap were in their lowest when Vicky Donor had released and the fact that Ayushmaan had an intimate scene with Yami Gautam didn't go well with his wife. Both of them have often talked about the same in various interviews. Talking to Anupama Chopra and opening up more, Tahira was quoted as saying, "A lot has changed in his presence. I was this crazy insecure pregnant person when Vicky Donor happened and that was the worst phase for the both of us. I think both of us were very immature. I'm sure he didn't had the maturity to kind of hold my hand and tell me it's okay, especially, when I am crazy or my hormones because I was pregnant at the time and I also didn't have the maturity to just take it easy and say that this thing will get over."
That's quite a candid confession that both of them were immature, right? Tahira further added, "So both of us lacked maturity at that point of time and you also feel like a whale you know and considering your husband is with beautiful women all around and you don't come from that background you know, you even have the maturity you have that passion towards the fact that you understand art you but you don't have the maturity to kind of deal with the frills that come along."
Tahira concluded by adding that she and Ayushmann have made peace with it and retorted, "I was very lost and so was he honestly speaking, but thankfully for us knowing each other for the past nine ten years before marriage really helped because I know that he's not a bad guy and he knows that she's not a bad girl, so I think that kind of sustained and they we kind of made peace with it." In an earlier interview as well, Ayushmann had opened up about the rough patch in his marital life after Vicky Donor. He had said, “Of course, she (Tahira) was disturbed. I was wanted by everyone (after Vicky Donor became a hit). We were also going through a rough patch. She was not ready for all this”.
Today, February 04, 2019, is World Cancer Day, and Tahira took to her Instagram to share an inspiring post on her Instagram handle. Along with the following picture, Tahira wrote, “Today is my day! Wish you all a happy #worldcancerday and hope each one of us celebrates this day in an embracing way. That we remove any stigma or taboo associated with it. That we spread awareness about it and that we have self love no matter what. I truly embrace all my scars as they are my badges of honour. There is nothing known as perfect. Happiness lies in truly accepting yourself. This was a tough one for me. But this picture was my decision as I want to celebrate not the disease but the spirit with which I endured.”
The note could further be added as, “To quote my mentor, Diasaku Ikeda, “Leading an undefeated life is eternal victory. Not being defeated, never giving up, is actually a greater victory than winning, not being defeated means having the courage to rise to the challenge. However many times we’re knocked down, the important thing is we keep getting up and taking one step-even a half step- forward” #worldcancerday #breastcancerawareness #breastcancerwarrior #turningkarmaintomission #boddhisatva Thanks @atulkasbekar for this one.” (You May Like: Sonali Bendre, On World Cancer Day, Shares She Laughed Through Chemo Sessions To Deal With Cancer)
