Filmmaker, SS Rajamouli is returning with the epic saga release Baahubali: The Epic, a trimmed and re-edited version of his blockbuster two-part saga. The film, which combines Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), is set to hit theatres on October 31, 2025, promising a tighter, more seamless storytelling experience for audiences worldwide.
In a recent promotional interview, Rajamouli revealed that several sequences and songs have been cut to ensure that Baahubali: The Epic feels like a single, cohesive film rather than two stitched-together features. Among the most notable deletions is the fan-favorite song Pacha Bottesina, picturised on Prabhas and Tamannaah Bhatia. This visually stunning number, which showcased the chemistry between 'Amarendra Baahubali' and 'Avantika,' was considered one of the musical highlights of Baahubali: The Beginning.
Rajamouli went on to explain why he cuts some scenes and songs, “Every scene in Baahubali has emotional weight and visual grandeur,” he said. He explained that some were not essential when viewed as a single movie, and that for Baahubali: The Epic, he wanted the story to flow without any narrative pauses. Apart from Pacha Bottesina, reports confirm that other tracks, including Kanna Nidurinchara and Irrukupo, have also been removed. Prabhas's and Tamannaah's romantic subplot has been shortened to keep the pace brisk. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 31, 2025, in multiple premium formats, including IMAX, 4DX, D-Box, Dolby Cinema, and EPIQ. It will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam.

According to a report, Baahubali: The Epic runs for 3 hours and 43 minutes. Originally, the film Baahubali: The Beginning had a runtime of 2 hours 38 minutes, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion clocked in at 2 hours 47 minutes, totaling over five and a half hours. Merging them without any changes would have been impractical for a theatrical experience. Rajamouli and his team therefore undertook an extensive re-editing process, trimming nearly two hours of footage while ensuring the essence of the epic remained intact. Filmmaker, Shobu Yarlagadda, who co-produced the Baahubali films, shared that audience feedback helped shape the new cut. He said:
“We did multiple test screenings and realized that when both films were combined, certain songs and scenes slowed down the pace. The final version is sharper and emotionally more focused.”

Rajamouli emphasized that Baahubali: The Epic is not merely a re-release but a re-imagined cinematic experience. “It’s the story of legacy, betrayal, and destiny told in one breath,” he said:
“When viewed together, it feels like the complete journey of Mahishmati rather than two separate chapters.”
The decision to edit beloved moments, including Tamannaah’s song, has stirred mixed reactions among fans. While some express disappointment over the removal of their favorite sequences, others applaud the director’s commitment to enhancing storytelling fluidity.
S.S. Rajamouli has put the rumours to rest, stating that he has no such intentions at this time. Instead, he noted that an animated film named Baahubali: The Eternal War is in the works. The trailer for this animated project will be released with Baahubali: The Epic.
