Tanishaa Mukerji is the daughter of the veteran actress, Tanuja and her husband, Shomu Mukherjee. Following in her mother and sister, Kajol's footsteps, the actress made her acting debut with the film, Sssshhh... in 2003. Later, she went on to work in films like Neal 'n' Nikki On Two Three, Code Name Abdul, Sarkar and many more. However, Tanishaa failed to make it big in the film industry. Apart from films, the diva also participated in the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 7. And now, Tanishaa is all set to show her dance skills in the popular dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11.
On November 6, 2023, the official Instagram handle of Sony TV shared a promo video of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. In the video, Kajol's sister, Tanishaa can be seen setting the stage on fire with her stunning dance moves on the song, Laila Main Laila. Undoubtedly, the actress won the hearts of the judges, Malaika Arora, Farah Khan and Arshad Warsi, with her smoking hot dance moves.

Further, in the video, we can see that, being impressed by Tanishaa's performance, Farah Khan praised her and stated that she is the star. However, upon hearing Farah's words, the actress got emotional and ended up saying that every member of her family is a star, but she has not reached that stage in her life. In her words:
"Meri family mein Ajay Devgn, Kajol sab stars hai. Main wo mukaam tak nahi pohochi. I am not a star."

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Tanishaa Mukerji opened up about her journey and revealed why she didn't make it as big as her mother, Tanuja and her sister, Kajol in her career. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that only those people who have a strong sense of self achieve great heights in their careers. Elaborating more about it, Tanishaa said:
"You have to have a strong sense of self. You have to have a strong sense of who you are and that person who will come out on screen. Those are the people who will actually make it, those who have a strong sense of self. Maybe I didn't make it because I didn't have that."

In the same conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Tanishaa opened up about being compared with her sister, Kajol. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that they don't compare one another. Adding that Kajol had a different journey, Tanishaa said:
"She had a different journey. We don’t compare each other. The comparison has been in the mind of the public. When you are a newcomer with privilege, they don’t get a chance to make too many mistakes. They don’t get a chance to learn on the job."
