Unlike her superstar mother, Tanuja and elder sister and successful Bollywood actress, Kajol, Tanishaa Mukerji has always preferred to keep herself away from the limelight. Despite that, she has come under the media glare, at times, because her family has a handful of successful actors in the industry.
Tanishaa Mukerji had shot to fame with her debut film, Sssshhh... but the actress had gained a lot of popularity when she had participated in the reality show, Bigg Boss 7. Her affair with her ex-boyfriend, Armaan Kohli, had become the talk of the town. However, this time it is her bold move of getting her eggs frozen that has brought a lot of humdrum in the media.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Tanishaa Mukerji, who is now 43 years old, opened up on what triggered her to take the decision to get her eggs frozen four years ago when she was 39. She said, "Yes, I froze my eggs a few years ago, because at that time it felt right and my philosophy is that life is short. Life is too short to wait for something to happen to you and I do want to have children."
Going further in the interview, Tanishaa Mukerji also spoke about the importance of a child to have a father. Stating the same, she said, "But I think it’s very important for a child to have a father. There’s a reason why God has created the Yin and the Yang, a man and woman to come together to have a child. There is a whole science and spiritual explanation behind it. So if I find the right male, my right yang, then I’d love to have a child."

In an earlier interview with ETimes, Tanishaa Mukerji had revealed that she had thought of getting the procedure done much before when she was 33. She had said, "At that time, when I went to my doctor (who finally froze my eggs now)… it is funny but she stopped me from doing so at that time. While she told me it takes a toll on your body, she advised I should do it when I have no hope of conceiving a baby. It’s a personal choice."
Tanishaa further normalised the fact that it is completely okay to not have children nowadays rather it is better to adopt. She had stated, "And today, it is perfectly ok to not have children. Adopt, there’s enough in this world. More people need to go out and talk about this. It’s ok for women to not have children. That’s not the only calling in your life. It’s ok to not get married, not be in a relationship and not define yourself with a man beside you."
