Tanushree Dutta was once the heartthrob of many youngsters when she made her acting debut in the Indian film industry. Her stunning looks and charming personality earned the Bong beauty many admirers and fans. It was in 2004 when Tanushree became a part of the glamour world after she won Femina Miss India.

In 2005, she made her Bollywood debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in Aashiq Banaya Aapne. She garnered immense limelight with her debut film, owing to her bold and intimate scenes in the film. Soon Tanushree was tagged the next big thing in Bollywood and went on to star in films like Dhol, Bhagam Bhag, Good Boy, Bad Boy and a few others.

After being away from the limelight for some time, Tanushree garnered the spotlight when she accused veteran actor, Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her. Not just this, Tanushree also accused filmmaker, Vivek Agnihotri of harassing her on the sets of Chocolate.

Tanushree Dutta struggled her way out in Bollywood. The actress, who carved her own path without any Godfather in the industry, recalled the horrifying experience of working with Vivek Agnihotri during the shooting of Chocolate. Speaking to Faridoon Shahryar, Tanushree revealed that she was called unprofessional for being five minutes late on the set.

Despite knowing that she was not supposed to shoot on that particular day, Vivek would call Tanushree on set and make her sit idle. She used to wait on the set from morning to evening for her scene. Not only that, but the actress was also not allowed to sit in her vanity van unless she was shooting.

Tanushree’s tryst with Vivek didn’t end here as the actress blamed the filmmaker for making her feel uncomfortable. She revealed that even if she wished to cover herself, he wouldn’t let her do it and would make her sit in a short dress in front of the entire crew. Speaking about the same, she said:

“Artists are supposed to rest in the van when they are not shooting. Especially, agar apne mujhe is tarah ke kapde diye hain – jo short kapde waghera hote hain. Main kabhi robe bhi pehn ke baithti thi to bolta tha ‘Nahi, abhi shot aane wala hai to isko utaaro’. Woh short skirt mein mujhe poori unit ke saamne bitha ke rakhta tha.”

This was not the end of Tanushree Dutta’s misery. While shooting a particular scene, Vivek Agnihotri had asked Tanushree to remove her clothes and dance. As per the allegations made by her, Vivek Agnihotri told her, “Kapde utaar ke naach uske saamne.” This was the scene where she was not even required to be a part of. At that moment, he co-stars, Irrfan Khan and Suniel Shetty, intervened and supported her.

Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual assault

In 2018, Tanushree Dutta blew up the headlines when she accused Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct. As a part of the “Me Too” movement, Tanushree alleged being assaulted by Nana during the making of the film, Horn ‘Ok’ Pleasss, in 2009.  She even went on to accuse him of misbehaving with her, both verbally and physically, while shooting for a song in the film. 

She faced a lot of political backlash and criticism from celebrities. She lost many projects in the wake of the controversy, and Nana, on the other hand, denied all the allegations. Tanushree filed an FIR in 2018 against Nana, but by 2019, he had been cleared of all charges.

Tanushree Dutta breaks down after revealing facing harassment in her own home

Recently, Tanushree Dutta shared a video in which the actress was seen in a distressed state. Breaking down into tears, the actress revealed being harassed for the past few years in her own home. Sharing the heartbreaking video, Tanushree spoke:

“I am being harassed in my own house. I just called the cops and they have asked me to come to the police station to lodge a proper complaint. I can’t hire maids because they plant them in my house. It's been going on since 2018 #metoo Aaj fed up hokar maine police ko call kiya. Please someone help me! Do something before it's too late.”

Once the top actress in Bollywood, Tanushree Dutta, had been going through a tormenting phase after she exposed the darker side of Bollywood.
