Tere Ishq Mein was released on November 28, 2025, and within hours, it became a big hit among fans. The early watchers have been left stunned by the film's intensity and the impeccable portrayals by the lead stars, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. The film, which had been labelled the soul sequel to Raanjhanaa, has left fans in a dark, twisted, and emotional headspace. Director, Aanand L Rai's film has delivered more than what fans expected, and social media is already buzzing with reactions.
Tere Ishq Mein seems to have struck a strong emotional chord with audiences, according to early X trends. The morning shows have concluded, and the early risers have described the movie as an emotional rollercoaster filled with love, longing, heartbreak, and healing. One viewer even called it "the emotional storm of the year," underscoring how deeply the narrative resonates with the audience. Kriti Sanon and Dhanush's film created a wave ever since it was first announced, and now that it has been released, the turnout has truly been spectacular.

Fans were left impressed with Dhanush's performance in the film. It appeared to be one of the biggest talking points. Many of them praise him for delivering a raw, powerful act, with fans claiming he was in "full heroic mode" and portraying pain and rage with remarkable intensity. Some users mentioned that his expressions alone are enough to communicate the character's emotional turmoil, calling it one of his most impactful performances in recent years.

While Dhanush set the screen on fire, Kriti Sanon's role in the film was no less. Fans' appreciation for her role was evident in comments commending her for bringing multiple shades to her character and calling her portrayal fearless and fiery. A few even compared her to "a female Kabir Singh" for the boldness and unpredictability she brings to the screen.

Soon enough, social media was flooded with comments of praise. A user penned, "Tere Ishk Mein is a heart-wrenching love story that tears right through your soul. If Saiyaara is for those who lose themselves in love, then Tere Ishk Mein is for people who are willing to destroy themselves for it. The first half strikes a perfect balance of entertainment, emotion, powerful dialogues, and drama. Dhanush’s entry sequence, his proposal to Kriti Sanon, and the interval block are standout moments that the mass audience will absolutely love."

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon Carry the film well. Ar Rahman Background Score. #TereIshkMein"

Tere Ishq Mein has introduced Kriti Sanon in a completely different light. The actress talked to IANS about her role and revealed that she enjoyed playing such a different character. She revealed that the role isn't just verbally expressive. She was quoted as saying:
"Mutki's character has a very diverse graph, what she starts from, what she ends up becoming, her choices, her decisions.. There are many layers to what she is doing. A lot is sometimes not said, a lot of justification, a lot of things why she is doing what she is, not said in words. There is no dialogue at times to help you, and it just has to be translated in your eyes. That was something new, and I really enjoyed it."
While Kriti Sanon lives for intense roles, she admitted that filming the film's most intense scenes left her with immense mental and physical fatigue. She shared that they would shoot a scene for days, which would take a toll on her and leave her completely drained. She was quoted as saying:
"There are a lot of really intense scenes, the pre-climax and the climax, which are very, very long. That was very draining, and we shot it for about 5-6 days. Both physically and emotionally, those scenes were extremely draining. When I went back home, it stayed with me; I felt extremely drained. That scene is the peak of emotions and probably the most intense bit of the film, and it pulled me down the most."
