'The Devil Wears Prada 2' Teaser Review, Will The Story Of 'Miranda' And 'Andy' Continue In Sequel?

The Devil Wears Prada is one of those films that did not just bring a few pop culture references, but became pop culture itself. Each dialogue, character, and even the name 'Miranda Preistly' have become iconic over the two decades since the film's release. Now, after 20 years, the sequel to this cult classic is all set to release and bring the story of New York's fashion's best to the big screen. Here's a look at the Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser with glimpses of 'Miranda' and 'Andy'.

"She is on her way, tell everyone!" Who can forget the iconic entry of 'Miranda Priestly', played by Meryl Streep, click-clacking her way with a pair of Valentinos while her employees flounder in the office to make everything perfect for her. In much the same way, giving a nod to that scene, the majority of The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser also showcases a similar entry. After twenty years, 'Miranda' still has that iron grip on the industry and her employees. At the last second of the teaser, the viewers get a glimpse of 'Andy Sachs', played by Anne Hathaway, who enters the elevator with 'Miranda'. 

Will the story of 'Miranda' and 'Andy' continue in The Devil Wears Prada 2? 

In the scene from the first film, when 'Miranda' entered the elevator, another woman who was already in there got out, apologising to the boss-lady. Meanwhile, in the teaser of the sequel, 'Andy' is shown entering the elevator after 'Miranda'. The latter smiles at her former assistant and tells her, "Took you long enough". Hence, this means that we will see a power struggle between the two, with 'Andy' now standing strong against the fashion magazine editor. As a result, the stories of both films are connected. Devil Wears Prada 2 isn't a spiritual sequel. 

Additionally, The Devil Wears Prada first instalment was based on the book by the same name, written by Lauren Weisberger. The author wrote a sequel that follows the story of the two main characters after a decade. In Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, 'Andy', who is herself an editor of a bridal fashion magazine, comes face to face with her nightmare of a former boss, 'Miranda Priestly'. According to reports, the sequel to the movie will also follow the second book's story.

After the teaser of the second instalment of the iconic film was released, netizens flooded the YouTube comment section of the first glimpse. One fan wrote, "How great it is to see Meryl Streep again in that great role." A second comment read, "Just the fact that we are getting a part two where we can appreciate updated and modern fashion of the moment is everything." Another netizen stated, "Nothing like a Vogue intro and the clacks. Will be watching this in high fashion. We can’t disappoint Miranda at the theatre!"
