Apoorva made a comment on women's body parts, and it not only brought her flak but also a whole lot of legal notices. Apoorva had to go through a tough time for the India's Got Latent controversy. From death threats, rape threats, and even threats of being attacked with acid, Apoorva had a lot. Well, she overcame the phase and dropped a video, wherein she bared her heart out. 

Apoorva Mukhija's BFF, Rida Tharana has been getting slammed since her comeback, here's what happened

Apoorva Mukhija dropped her comeback video on YouTube, and it won the hearts of millions and millions of people. In the description of her video, Apoorva even tagged all of her friends, who stood like a strong pillar behind her during the tough time. Well, the eagle-eyed netizens were swift to notice that Rida Tharana, who is known to be Apoorva's bestie, was missing from the list.

While this was suspicious, Apoorva made a claim that after the IGL controversy, she went to take the help of a tarot card reader, who told her that a friend of hers had done black magic on her. Apoorva stated that the description that the tarot reader gave her actually was similar to the friend upon whom she had a doubt from the beginning. While Apoorva didn't take anyone's name, people started connecting the dots and started wondering if she hinted at Rida only.

Soon after watching her video, netizens rushed to Rida's profile and started slamming her, while questioning if she was the one to perform black magic on her BFF, Apoorva. Not only this, people even started calling out Rida, while stating that they have always thought her to be a 'girls' girl', but whatever she did was unacceptable. Well, during the IGL controversy, Rida mostly remained silent and supported her bestie, Apoorva, two to three times, as reported.

Who is Apoorva Mukhija's BFF, Rida Tharana?

Rida Tharana is a famous Instagram influencer, who has 1.6 million followers on her IG. She is famous for her content on self-love, discrimination around women based on height, weight colour, patriarchy, and financial independence. Rida grew up in a remote village, Polibetta, and from a young age, she had to face serious issues like patriarchy and internalised misogyny.

In a conversation with Her Story, Rida revealed that she didn't have big dreams as a kid, as most of the conversations that would happen in her home were like a girl's marriage and kids. She shared how her skin colour, marriage, and dowry became a topic at her home as she grew up, and how they were expected to wear a hijab. She was questioned about trying to get a loan or wishing to go to the same college a boy would want to go to during her stay in that remote village. An excerpt from Rida's statement reads:

"The notion instilled within us since childhood was that no matter how educated a woman gets, eventually, she is going to have a nice, cute wedding, and then that’s her life. It left me deeply troubled."
