The Simpsons is a famous American animated sitcom that began as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show in 1987. However, in 1989, it became a half-hour series that was enjoyed by both adults and children to date. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and is the longest-running scripted series in TV history. Now, the series has left many viewers heartbroken by killing one of its characters permanently.
It is a sad period in Springfield as they have lost one of their own. In the November 16, 2025, episode of The Simpsons, the fictional city's First Church Organist, 'Alice Glick', suddenly passed away in the midst of a sermon. Earlier, the late Cloris Leachman was the voice behind the character. After this, Tress MacNeille took over and became the voice of the character for the past 34 years.

However, in the season 37 episode titled 'Sashes to Sasches', 'Alice Glick' was being honoured in a memorial service by Springfield Elementary, and it was revealed that she had left her entire state to fund the school's new music program.
It is worth mentioning that this isn't the first time that 'Alice Glick's' character has died. It was in season 22 that she was attacked by a rogue Robopet, which left fans wondering if she had been killed in the series. However, after this, she returned to the show, sometimes alive and sometimes as a ghost.
In an interview with People, executive producer of the show, Tim Long, revealed that 'Alice Glick' is gone forever, and she is not coming back. He added that she is going to live forever in the show through the beautiful music she made. He stated that she is dead as a doornail, and shared:
"In a sense, Alice the organist will live forever, through the beautiful music she made. But in another, more important sense, yep she's dead as a doornail."
It is worth mentioning that the character of 'Alice Glick' was created in Season 2's Three Men and A Comic Book episode in 1991, where Bart Simpson was completing tasks for Alice Glick. He had the motive to save enough money to buy a collector's item comic book.
