The Summer I Turned Pretty has already captivated audiences from 2022 over its intruding love triangle between three youngsters, beautiful sunsets and aesthetic beach backgrounds. But if you thought that the show is only about finding who ends up with 'Belly', think again. As we are waiting for that mystery to unveil itself in the ongoing third and final season, the makers are interestingly leaving behind some subtle clues in the storyline.
Jenny Han and her creative team have included some interesting callbacks and minor details that you might have missed in the new season, but could hold a potential hint about its climax. If you are someone who has missed them, too, here are a few blink-and-miss Easter eggs that you might want to know.
If you are just paying attention to the dialogues of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, you are missing something. Yes, the simple-looking wardrobe in the episodes has a deeper meaning than you can think. 'Belly' wears blue when she is about to have some key moments with 'Jeremiah', while it turns into a shade of red during an emotional scene with 'Conrad'. In fact, during surfing, 'Conrad' goes for a red board while 'Jeremiah' picks a blue. Lastly, the use of Taylor Swift's Red in the trailer has already given rise to new fan theories.
Well, season 3 is a true treat for Taylor Swift fans with multiple mentions related to her and her music. Even in the fourth episode when 'Jeremiah' and 'Belly' who are drunk float in the pool and poke fun at 'Conrad', true Swifties noticed that it reflects the opening lines of Taylor Swift's Gorgeous, "I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk."
Beginning from the promo art, which is similar to the 1954 film, Sabrina, there are a lot of similarities between the two. The decades-old movie was also based on a woman caught between two brothers. However, in that movie, the protagonist ended up with the older brother, which could be a major hint to whom 'Belly' chooses at the end.

In a blink-and-you-miss photo in the backdrop, you will notice that 'Belly' and 'Jeremiah' dress as 'Lara Jean' and 'Peter' from Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Since those characters ended together, 'Jeremiah' fans think that it could be a hint about his 'happily ever after' with 'Belly'.
In the last season 2, we saw a scene where 'Belly' finds a note from 'Conrad' attached to a crossword puzzle. She fills in the details about Jenny's homework in them while the focus in the scene changes. Well, the puzzle forms an infinity symbol, adding another hinting in her relationship with 'Conrad'.
In episode 4, team 'Conrad' might have got upset when they saw 'Belly' trying on wedding dresses to tie the knot with 'Jeremiah'. But, if they see closely, they will notice that outside her dressing room there is a grown hanging in the stack, which is similar to her Season 2 prom dress where she went with 'Conrad'. Is it a coincidence? Or a quiet heartbreak?
Jenny Han, who has managed the creative aspects of the third season, earlier teased that fans might not get to understand all the Easter eggs in the new season. But even if you did, she has admitted there's one major clue buried in Season 3 that most fans have already missed. However, she's not spilling the mystery behind them, and fans are continuing to carefully analyse every scene to find a clue.
Well, these wonderfully hidden Easter eggs have proved that the season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is not just about who 'Belly' ends up with, but even about a puzzle where every little detail means something.
