The beautiful princess of the nawabi gharana, Soha Ali Khan, tied the knot with her long-time beau and actor, Kunal Khemu on January 25, 2015. As planned by the couple, the wedding was a low-key affair that took place at their Khar residence in Mumbai, in the presence of a registrar and the family members.
Despite the couple’s intention to keep their wedding an intimate affair, it grabbed a lot of attention from media. And why wouldn’t it? After all, this much-awaited wedding belonged to the Nawabs of the film industry.

The couple first met on the sets of the movie, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge. However, their initial reaction to each other was more of indifference than even a simple friendship.
Soha once mentioned in one of her interviews with a leading daily:
“When I first met Kunal, I didn’t even think a friendship was possible between us, let alone being in a relationship.”

But, as the destiny had some other plans for them, the two were in love in no time. Very soon, they even moved in together, and were in a live-in relationship before they decided to take the wedding vows.
Kunal popped the question to his sweetheart in 2014, in the romantic locales of Paris, to which the demure Soha said a prompt yes!
Soha even shared this news through her Twitter profile, where she mentioned, “It gives me great happiness to share with you all that Kunal proposed to me in Paris with the most perfect ring in the world and I said yes.”

The wedding invitation was a simple card strewn with red roses speaking of their immortal love for each other. Wrapped in a gold bow, the card had Soha and Kunal’s name in a heart-shaped wreath, and the date proudly proclaiming the coming together of the two love birds.

While their wedding was a private affair, the celebrations included everything that forms a part of any big fat Indian wedding. The pre-wedding functions included the bachelorette party and mehendi ceremony, whereas a star-studded reception concluded the entire celebrations.

Soha’s close friends threw a grand bachelorette party for their pal on the evening of January 22. Looking resplendent in a gold bronze gown with a sequinned neckline, Soha's friends presented her with a jewel-studded tiara adding that extra dash of bling to the bride’s attire. A sash with ‘bride-to-be’ written over it, was also given to the pretty lady announcing that she was finally taken.
Some of the close friends who were a part of the party included the actresses Neha Dhupia, Konkona Sen Sharma and Sandhya Mridul.

For the mehendi ceremony, the bride-to-be chose to wear a Ritu Kumar pink and gold ensemble. The minimal makeup and jewellery added to the bride’s glow and radiance.

Soha’s sister-in-law, Kareena Kapoor Khan, also kept it simple by sticking to a printed cotton suit teamed up with a pair of earrings, a red bindi and smouldering eyes.

Other guests spotted at the mehendi ceremony were Neha Dhupia, Konkona Sen Sharma and Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan Sharma.
Neha Dhupia even shared the picture of the bride-to-be on Twitter, saying, “N the gorgeous bride is chillin like a Villain.”

Soha and Kunal’s wedding took place at their Khar residence in the form of a very simple ceremony. During the ceremony, only a registrar along with the family members, was present.
The 36-year old actress looked resplendent in an off-white lehenga teamed up with an orange dupatta. The traditional maang tikka of a Muslim bride, passa, completed her look. On the other hand, the 31-year old actor looked stately in a white and gold sherwani and a silk safa.
The beautiful bride even posted her selfie on Twitter just before taking the wedding vows stating, “My last selfie as a single lady!”

And after tying the knot, she posted another picture with Kunal saying, “I married my best friend today.”
Talking about Soha’s family, everyone was dressed up just perfectly to suit their royal stature. Kareena Kapoor Khan looked stunning in a pink and white saree teamed up with a striking neckpiece and nude makeup. And, Saif Ali Khan sported a simple white achkan paired with a pink turban, which complemented Kareena's dress perfectly.

After the simple wedding ceremony in the morning, it was the reception which saw the who’s who of Bollywood showering their blessings on the newlyweds. Soha looked every bit like a royal bride in a hot pink and gold lehenga designed by Sanjay Garg, while the handsome groom donned a simple kurta and white trousers with a bandhgala jacket. He made sure to match up with his bride’s attire by carrying a hot pink pocket square.
Saif looked simply dapper in a blue bandhgala jacket, while Kareena dazzled in Manish Malhotra’s white and pink lehenga.
What's more? Nawab and his begum, Saif and Kareena took the celebrations to an entire different level as the two danced on their famous number 'Dil Dance Maare', from the movie, Tashan. And, the two looked perfectly settled in their role of being the fun and amazing hosts of the lovely event.
