This Bride Ditched Bridal Lehenga And Opted For Sabyasachi Mukherjee's Red Saree For Her Wedding Day

The six-yard piece of cloth with no stitch or zip has been elevating the aura of women across the nation. Saree is considered as a staple that marks the beginning of a girl's journey to womanhood. We all can clearly remember our mothers sigh when they had seen us dressed in a saree for the first time for our school farewell, and they would all lovingly say, 'meri beti toh badi hogayi'. No matter, whether we know how to tie a saree or not, we all love wearing it. After all, we all have grown up admiring our moms' closet full of stunning saree collection and hope of wearing them someday.

Saree is not just a piece of cloth or another ensemble in the long list of women's fashion, but it holds the value of our culture. Since time immemorial, it has been a significant ensemble in a women's wardrobe. And we spotted a bride, who ditched her usual red lehenga for a gorgeous red saree. Yes, our bride of the week has set a new trend by donning a saree for her big day.

Meet our bride, Pratima Singh, who had tied the knot with the love of her life in New Delhi in the times of COVID-19. For her intimate wedding of 50 people, the gorgeous bride had opted for her dream designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee's red saree with golden embroidery all over it. She had completed her look with a choker neckpiece, matching earrings and a mathapatti. On the other hand, her groom had complimented her in a golden sherwani with a beige sleeveless jacket over it.

This is not the first time when a bride had donned a saree instead of a lehenga for her big day. Last year, one of the Sabyasachi bride, Deepika Gauba, who had married Ishaan in Rajasthan at Castle Mandawa had also worn a saree. Her wedding had a royal touch to it and it was her ensemble that had instantly reminded us of Anushka's reception look. Yes, for the D-day, the bride had ditched the heavy lehenga and had opted for an exactly similar red saree like Anushka. However, instead of choosing a plain red blouse, she had donned a golden printed blouse and a net dupatta that had accentuated her look.

Deepika had accessorised her look with a choker neckpiece, a pair of earrings, maang teeka and an oversized nose ring that had made her open-hair look more gorgeous.
