Every girl wishes for a dream proposal, when her partner would get down on his knees and pop the most awaited question. Sejal Acharya was lucky to have had such a moment. Her then-boyfriend-now-husband, Jay Mistry got down on his knees and asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ in a dreamy backdrop of Lake Como, Italy. Sejal and Jay had gotten engaged in a traditional Indian style. Sejal looked royal and elegant in a royal blue lehenga and completed it with a beige-coloured dupatta. On the other hand, Jay had looked dapper in a formal three-piece suit. Sejal announced her engagement by sharing the pictures from the ceremony along with a heartfelt note, which could be read as “Our Indian Engagement. Without the love and support of my family and friends, this day would not have been possible! I can’t thank you all enough for everything you did to make this day perfect! We both missed some very important people in our life who aren’t here today, but we know we have their blessings with us.”

Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding and for that, she makes sure to get full rest and no worries. To make sure that a bride is treated well before she takes the seven vows, her girl gang makes sure to take her out for some happy memories. Dressed in her casual best, Sejal too enjoyed her bachelorette and shared the pictures on her Instagram, along with the caption that read, “So many memories, so many inside jokes, a weekend never to be forgotten with my favourite people in the world. Thank you for treating me to an amazing weekend.”

Grah Shanti Puja

In every Indian household, before any auspicious ceremony begins, it is necessary to hold a puja for the betterment of everything. Similarly, for Sejal and Jay’s wedding, Sejal’s family had organised a ‘Grah Shanti Puja’ before the beginning of the wedding ceremonies. While sharing the pictures from the ceremony, Sejal explained the significance of the puja and wrote, “This Puja is one of the most important ceremonies both Jay and I did before the wedding. It is performed to seek the blessings from the 9 planets, remove all obstacles and bring happiness and prosperity into our lives.” For the occasion, Sejal opted for a green and orange coloured saree with a matching orange-coloured blouse. Keeping everything minimal, Sejal completed her look with an emerald necklace.

Pithi/Haldi Ceremony

The wedding day at any Hindu household begins with the auspicious haldi ceremony, where the bride and groom are applied haldi for glowing skin. Sejal shared adorable pictures from her pithi/haldi ceremony and captioned it as “The Yellow stuff! This ceremony was so much FUN! Yes, I was absolutely covered in yellow stuff that made me look like a character out of the Simpsons! In fact, my family and friends were also covered. The ceremony is full of tradition, with good wishes and blessings from all.” Sejal looked ethereal in a yellow-coloured silk saree and complemented it with a pink-coloured blouse and contrasting green-coloured jewellery.

Sejal Acharya donned an Anita Dongre outfit for her mehendi and looked exceptionally pretty. She opted for a pastel colour outfit and complemented her look by keeping her locks loose and a simple maang teeka. Her mehendi night pictures have given us some major inspiration to party and dance. Getting Ready For The Final Moment

A bride is filled with mixed emotions on the day of her wedding. She gets jitters and butterflies in her stomach while she gets ready for the final moment. Sejal also felt the same emotions and beautifully captioned them while sharing her getting ready pictures. Her caption could be read as “The moment I stepped inside Oshwal Centre at 7am, my emotions were all over the place. It was a rollercoaster of emotions during the entire time I spent getting ready - I was upset, happy and nervous all at the same time. It suddenly dawned on me that my Wedding Day had arrived, and even though Jay and I had been planning this day for 18 months it didn't quite hit me that it was happening until the morning itself. I just wanted time to stop, I wanted to be with my family and friends and didn't want to leave them.”

Bride’s Dream Wedding Outfit/ Sabyasachi Lehenga For Wedding

When a bride starts her prep for her wedding, the first thing she selects is her wedding outfit and who's better than the ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee when it comes to traditional lehengas? Sejal Acharya opted for a Sabyasachi’s zari-work red-coloured lehenga and completed her look with a maang teeka and jadau jewellery. She looked like a perfect Sabyasachi bride in the outfit. The minimal work on her lehenga made Sejal stand out on her wedding.

Civil Wedding

After the Hindu wedding, Sejal Acharya and Jay Mistry had a civil wedding. Sejal looked oh-so-gorgeous in a dreamy beige-coloured lehenga and this time she opted for everything minimal. She completed her look with a pair of heavy chandbalis and left her locks loose and a rose in her tresses to complement them. Sejal captioned the pictures as “Every moment we are sharing and the ones we have shared together, you have come to mean so much to me. You are my best companion, my world and my everything this life can bring.”

Minimalism is the new trend for modern-day brides. And following the trend, Sejal Acharya also kept her reception look and dress minimal. She opted for a Sabyasachi hand-painted floral lehenga with sea green-coloured blouse and kept her hair tied in a bun. She completed her look with a red bindi and looked stunning on her reception in Harrow, London.
