Mimi worked as an 'auditor' for the cult and reportedly introduced the actor to the church of Scientology. The couple divorced around 1990, but Tom Cruise became a devotee of the cult. He even claimed that his dyslexia was 'cured' by the methods prescribed by the cult. 

Tom Cruise married co-star, Nicole Kidman, but the marriage ended due to 'irreconcilable differences'

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman met on the sets of one of their movie and started dating. The two got married in 1990 and were one of the most high-profile couples in Hollywood, with both of them at the top of their careers. Scientologist leaders allegedly held 'auditions' to find a new girlfriend for Tom Cruise after his breakup with Penelope Cruz 

Tom Cruise and actress, Penelope Cruz were in a relationship but broke up after three years of dating. Meanwhile, the actor also started drifting away from Scientology after his marriage to Nicole Kidman. Hence, as per sources, the leaders of the religion auditioned potential girlfriends who followed Scientology, for the actor. Reportedly, British-Iranian actress, Nazanin Boniadi was chosen for Tom Cruise. 

After articles were published by Vanity Fair, revealing the alleged girlfriend auditions, the church of Scientology and Tom Cruise threatened to sue the media agency. However, Nazanin Boniadi herself has stated these events in a documentary on Scientology as well to the FBI for testimony. The actress also left the cult soon after her breakup with Tom Cruise. 

Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes in a Scientologist ceremony, many speculated the marriage was arranged by the cult 

Tom Cruise made a very public announcement about his feelings for Katie Holmes. The actor jumped on the couch of The Oprah Winfrey Show and declared his feelings for the actress. The couple announced the birth of their daughter, Suri Holmes, in 2006 and got married in the same year. Many speculated that the marriage was arranged by the church of Scientology.
