Tom Holland's first look from Spider-Man: Brand New Day had been making headlines as the actor began filming for the movie. For the uninitiated, the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home provided a brief glimpse of Tom Holland's new suit, reminiscent of the classic one from Marvel Comics. Over the years, 'Spider-Man's' costume has undergone multiple changes. However, this time it's not the new exciting glimpses that have been making headlines, but an unfortunate incident that happened on September 19, 2025.

Spider-Man star, Tom Holland, is hospitalised

Tom Holland was filming for his upcoming Spider-Man film when a botched stunt left him hospitalised. According to a recent report by The SUN, the star cracked his head during a fall and was treated for a concussion. A woman, who is being assumed to be a stunt double, was also taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

The news was kept under wraps while Tom Holland received treatment after the fall. Following the incident, filming of the GBP150 million film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, was suspended at Leavesden Studios in Watford, Hertfordshire. The shoot was cancelled on September 19, 2025, and could be on hold for weeks. The British star's father, Dominic, who was attending a charity dinner in Mayfair, confirmed that his son would be away from filming for a while.

Tom Holland's accident might lead to a deeper investigation into the safety protocols

While Tom Holland suffered a mild concussion, the situation could have been far more dire. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the fall could lead to an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive. The film is intended to mark Tom's fourth standalone Spider-Man movie and is scheduled for release in July 2026. Leavesden Studios and Sony Pictures are yet to comment on the incident. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: 

"We were called at 10:30 am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford. An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to the hospital for further care."
