Triptii Dimri Addresses Working In Sandeep Vanga's 'Spirit' After Deepika's Exit, '..Beautiful Film'

Triptii Dimri is currently one of the most talked-about actresses among all the emerging Bollywood divas. Starting her career as an outsider, working as an extra on set to performing as the lead actress in movies of Imtiaz Ali and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, she has come a long way. Recently, after Deepika Padukone reportedly exited Sandeep Vanga's Spirit due to alleged 'demands', Triptii was announced as the lead actress opposite Prabhas. The Laila Majnu actress discussed her experience working on Spirit. 

Triptii Dimri talks about working on Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit 

In May 2025, reports circulated that Deepika Padukone, who had been signed as the lead actress for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, had exited the project. Amid these rumours, the director took to his Instagram handle and announced that Triptii Dimri had joined the starcast and would be starring opposite Prabhas in the upcoming musical genre film. Triptii had reposted the announcement welcoming her to the team, but otherwise remained silent on her involvement with the film. However, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actress discussed working with Sandeep Vanga on Spirit. 

Triptii first mentioned working with ace director, Vishal Bharadwaj on an upcoming project, which is set to be released soon. To note, the film also stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead, alongside Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda in significant roles. Apart from it, the Qala actress also expressed her excitement for working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Spirit. Triptii called it a beautiful film in the interview, and said:

“I’ve just been working with Vishal, and that film is also going to come out soon, so I’m quite excited about that. After that, of course, comes Mr. Vanga’s Spirit, and I’m really excited about it. It’s a beautiful film.”

After welcoming Triptii to the star cast, Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to his X handle and wrote out a tweet lambasting an anonymous actor who disclosed the story to one of his upcoming movies. The director also wrote, "Is this what your feminism stands for?", which points to the possibility of it being a female star. Though no names were taken in the tweet itself, many speculate that it might be Deepika, given the timing of the controversy and the way the accusations were worded by Sandeep Vanga. The Animal director had also called out the anonymous star for putting down a younger actor, which netizens speculated might have been Triptii since she is relatively newer in the industry than Deepika, but replaced her in Spirit. 

More about Spirit 

As per reports, Prabhas will play the role of an intense police officer in Spirit. Whereas, Triptii will be seen as a doctor. The main theme of the film is that love blossoms between the two characters as they face tough situations. A Rangasthalam report also revealed that Sandeep Vanga, along with music composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar, has finalised the musical compositions. Given that Spirit is going to be a musical, these compositions are a pivotal part of the film.
