Triptii Dimri won the hearts of millions of people with just a few minutes' role in the 2023 blockbuster film, Animal. ‘Bhabhi No. 2’ became the new national crush of India, and her popularity amongst the masses increased by manifolds. While Triptii previously has worked in several critically acclaimed films, such as Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, and Qala, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal opened new avenues for the actress. Triptii made headlines due to rumours of her relationship with the businessman, Sam Merchant that surfaced on the internet in December 2023. At that time, the Animal actress was photographed at a wedding that both Sam and Triptii attended. On January 30, 2024, Triptii took to her Instagram stories and posted a quirky birthday wish for her alleged boyfriend, Sam Merchant. She uploaded a throwback picture from 2017 and another recent photo from 2023, and wrote atop the collage:
“Happy Birthday, Sam Merchant, wish we could be as thin again without having to skip Ram shaam pani puri..”

In the picture from 2017, Triptii was seen smiling the brightest while her rumoured boyfriend, Sam looked straight at the camera while wrapping one arm around the actress. Triptii was wearing a strappy black dress, which she paired with a bracelet, earrings, subtle makeup and open tresses. Sam, on the other hand, looked dapper in a black shirt. In the picture from 2023, the duo twinned in white outfits and were all smiles as they posed for the camera. The glimpse suggested that Triptii and Sam went for a bike ride with their helmets and sunnies on. It is worth noting that Sam has also reposted Triptii’s story on his official IG account.

Previously, there were reports which suggested that Triptii was dating Anushka Sharma’s brother, Karnesh Ssharma. However, in December 2023, the media was filled with rumours that Triptii had broken up with Karnesh, and found love in the arms of Sam Merchant. The latter is a model turned businessman, who is reportedly the founder of Waters Beach Lounge & Grill in Goa. Sam, apparently, has bagged the Gladrags Manhunt Contest back in 2002.
A few days after rumours began circulating that Triptii and Sam were dating, the latter’s comment on a post by the Animal actress received a lot of attention. On December 28, 2023, Triptii shared a lovely video from her vacation, where she was seen enjoying the beauty of nature. Sam quickly commented on the post and wrote, "Beautiful."
