21-Year-Old, UP Bride Cancels Wedding, Slaps Groom After He Comes Drunk Puts Garland On Her Bestie

A wedding is the most important day between a bride and a groom. It celebrates the union of love amid friends and families, blessing the couple. However, the feeling of being heartbroken and cancelling your wedding on the big day is something one cannot imagine. A 21-year-old bride cancelled her wedding in UP's Bareilly, after her groom turned up drunk and put the varmala on her bestie's neck. A lot of brawl took place at the venue where the auspicious occasion was set to take place.

Bride slaps drunk groom and cancels her wedding

Radha Devi was the 21-year-old bride who had called off her wedding, slapped her groom after he arrived drunk at the wedding venue. It all began when the groom named, Ravindra Kumar, came late with his baraat at his wedding. Reportedly, the 26-year-old groom's family was already given Rs. 2.5 lakh dowry by Radha's family during the pre-wedding functions. They were also given Rs. 2 lakh on the day of the wedding. In the FIR, the bride's family mentioned that the groom's family was not satisfied with the dowry amount.

Drunk groom puts garland on wife's bestie in front of 500 guests

Reportedly, the groom was arrested after he behaved badly at his wedding. Ravindra was drinking to glory with his friends and during the varmala ceremony he suddenly ended up putting the garland on his bride's best friend. The absurd and horrific incident took place in front of 500 guests in the village of, Naughwa Bhagwantpur. Reportedly, the groom was so drunk that he then removed the garland from the neck of his bride's bestie and placed it on the neck of one of his male friends. It turned more bizarre when reportedly the groom went and put the garland on an elderly guest who had come to attend the wedding.

Drunk groom's behaviour stunned the wedding guests

Radha Devi had taken the most difficult decision of her life, to call off her wedding. Her pain, humiliation that she and her family had to undergo because of the groom's weird behaviour cannot be defined in words. However, even the 500 odd guests at the wedding went silent with the action of the groom. They became speechless, shocked and stunned. However, it was at that moment when Radha lost her cool and reportedly slapped her husband-to-be. She walked off her wedding stage, as if feeling liberated from the clutches of a man who was so toxic and only gave her pain and embarrassment. Radha reportedly then made the bold decision of calling off her wedding.

Reportedly, a fight between the two families, who were all set to become relatives, took place. Things turned ugly when a chair fight took place at the wedding venue. The families did not stop until the UP police made it's entry and the baraat was told to leave.

Did the groom want to marry someone of his own choice?

Reportedly, Ravindra wanted to do love marriage and marry someone of his own choice. He was heavily drunk and when he came to the wedding place, he had started misbehaving with the bride and her family.  He was reportedly given liquor illicitly and a FIR has been filed against him for dowry harassment.
