Popular South actor, Ram Charan's wife, Upasana Kamineni, has been at the receiving end lately. This is because a video of Upasana speaking at length about egg freezing has now gone viral on social media. The actress had come to IIT Hyderabad to address the students and shared about how egg freezing can be the biggest insurance for any young woman. This is because they can plan their life on their own terms. The advice did not gel with netizens and called her out for promoting Apollo's IVF.
Upasana Kamineni addressed the students of IIT Hyderabad, telling them that if a young woman freezes her eggs, she can decide when to get married, have kids, and become financially independent. She spoke of standing on her own feet, and the security of egg freezing helped her make bold decisions in life. She told the students to be clear with health, career and relationship goals before 30 and captioned the video as:
"I truly had an amazing time interacting with the students at IIT Hyderabad. When I asked, “How many of you want to get married?” — more men raised their hands, than the women! The women seemed far more career-focused! This is the new - Progressive India. Set your vision. Define your goals. Own your role. And watch yourself become unstoppable."

A user posted on X to comment on Upasana Kamineni's video about egg freezing. She was accused of promoting Apollo's IVF as she was the Vice Chairperson of Corporate Social Responsibility at the hospital. The user on X wrote:
“She is basically selling Apollo IVF egg-freezing business by creating a use case of linking financial independence to kids (she ignored the important part, husband as a support system, as if it is a crime or against a relationship)."

An angry user wrote, "Step 1: Reject marriage at golden (fertile) years (23-30) Step 2: Start feeling lonely at late 30's Step 3: Adopt a dog Step 4: Cry Step 5: Destroy lives of other young females by encouraging them to this sh** and satisfy your ego." Another netizen wrote, "Because of women like Upasana, Girls nowadays don't understand the importance of marriage at the right age. Apart from that, having a family and children has become a necessity due to the dangers of demographic change. Hindu girls, especially, get influenced by women like this lady. Sit down, Aunty."

Users shared that marriage needed to be a personal choice of an individual. A user wrote, "A polite disagreement, madam. Marriage is a personal choice that one should make based on their unique circumstances. It is not a scientific formula that can be applied across the board with uniform results." Another one shared, "Because of women like Upasana, girls nowadays don’t understand the importance of marriage at the right age."

A third angry user was unhappy with the Apollo promotions and noted, "You are just promoting your Apollo fertility centre, that’s it. Sorry @upasanakonidela gaaru, you are misleading the young generations with this message," another user wrote. Another said, “Dear ladies, get married before 30. These idiots do not know science… Freezing eggs and ovulating is the biggest painful task… Don’t let some random influencer sell dreams."
