Modern-day celebrities are not hesitant to share insights from their journey in motherhood. Several actresses and star wives have openly discussed their birthing procedures, like superstar, Ram Charan's wife, Upasana Konidela. The entrepreneur and wellness advocate had previously revealed that she had frozen her eggs. Consequently, when their daughter, Klin Kaara, was born, fans felt the couple adopted the same procedure during her pregnancy. But, in a recent interview, Upasana Konidela shared significant insights and mentioned how Ram has supported her through the journey.
Upasana Konidela sat down with Masoom Minawala and opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs in the past. She explained that women, including those who don't face fertility issues, should opt for the procedure. The diva explained that freezing eggs allows women to embrace motherhood based on their choice, which is significant owing to their major responsibility in raising a child. Recalling her experience, Upasana said:
"So, the egg freezing procedure — my family encouraged me to go ahead and do it. And I was very happy that they pushed me towards it. But I had Kaara naturally. It's always wonderful to have that safety net."
Upasana Konidela revealed that her husband, Ram Charan, is a big source of support for her as he takes care of their daughter, Klin Kaara, when she has to go somewhere for work. Despite his busy acting schedule, he takes equal responsibility for raising their daughter and spends adequate time with her. The entrepreneur mentioned that he is a responsible dad. In her words:
"He's a hands-on dad and takes equal responsibility — sometimes even more — when I'm travelling. For example, when I was at Harvard, Kaara was with him the entire time. He made sure to take her everywhere, ensured she ate well — and by the way, he's an ace dad when it comes to getting her to eat."
In the same conversation, Upasana Konidela shared that she used to think working in an office was difficult. But, now she realised that parenting is a more tough job. She was asked whether marriage to a superstar like Ram Charan is difficult. But, the diva brushed it off and mentioned that no marriage is easy and comes with its own share of highs and lows. However, situations can be managed when people have clarity about life goals, understanding, and respect. Upasana highlighted that respect is key to her and Ram's marriage. Sharing how motherhood has been an incredible experience for her, Upasana said:
"Kaara has brought so much happiness, and she arrived at the perfect time. I was pregnant with her during the Oscars — she's our lucky baby. She's travelled everywhere with me — to the Globes, the Oscars — always by my side. I truly feel that having her around gives me security as a mother, as a woman, and as an entrepreneur. She gives me that sense of reassurance, like saying, 'It's okay, Mama — if things don't go well at the office, I'm here for you at home. It's so beautiful to have her."
Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela studied in the same school during childhood. But, they gradually lost touch in life. The duo connected years later and became friends that soon developed into love. They dated for a brief period before getting engaged in December 2011. The couple tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony the next year and welcomed their first child, daughter Klin Kaara, in June 2023. On the work front, Ram Charan was last seen in Shankar's Game Changer.
