Urmila Kothare is one of the famous faces of the Marathi entertainment world. The gorgeousness is best known for her roles in Marathi movies like Duniyadari, Shubha Mangal Saavadhan, Mala Aai Vhhaychy!, Ti Saddhya Kay Karte, and Hindi movie, Thank God. Apart from that, she was also seen in Hindi TV serials Maayka and Mera Sasural and the Marathi serials Asambhav, Uun Paus, and Goshta Eka Lagnachi. Well, on December 28, 2024, Urmila Kothare faced an accident as her car crashed near Poisar Metro station, causing a death.
As per the reports, Urmila Kothare was returning from her shoot, and her driver was driving the car. After a while, the car lost control near the Poisar Metro station, Mumbai, and it ran over two labourers. As per the police, one of these labourers, who was working on a project for the metro station, died on the spot, while the other one was severely injured. The actress and her driver were injured, but they could be saved as the airbags opened right away. As per the police officials:
"Urmila Kothare's car hit two labourers who were engaged in Metro rail work under the Poisar Metro station in Kandivali east shortly after midnight. While labourer died, another was seriously injured. The actor and her driver were also injured in the accident. But they were saved as the airbags opened at the right time."
If the reports are to be believed, a case has been filed against Urmila Kothare's 58-year-old driver, Gajanan Pal, at the Samta Nagar police station under section 106 (1) of BNS, while the actress hasn't spoken about this matter. According to the primary investigation, the driver lost control over speeding the vehicle, and for the same reason, in the wee hours of December 28, 2024, the victim was hit by the car, causing the demise.
As per reports, she also faced minor injuries due to this accident. Several photos of the crashed car have been going viral on social media, wherein it can be seen in a devastated state. Talking about the victims, as per them, both of them hail from West Bengal, and moved to Mumbai for work. The injured victim is under medical vigilance in a private hospital in Kurar.
