Bollywood beauty, Urvashi Rautela is an actress as well as the titleholder for several pageants. Since she made her pageant debut with Miss Teen India 2009 and her film debut with Singh Saab The Great, Urvashi has dominated the headlines for various reasons, be it her professional front or her personal life. Urvashi has always been one to say the first thing that comes to her mind, which tends to backfire more often than not. The same happened recently when she shared her thoughts on the brutal attack on Saif Ali Khan, resulting in netizens calling her out for her insensitivity.
Urvashi Rautela recently sat down for an interview with ANI, during which she was asked to share her thoughts on the brutal attack on Saif Ali Khan in the early hours of January 15, 2025. The actress stated that although Saif was no longer critical, the entire incident was 'very unfortunate.' However, Urvashi's train of thought then took a bizarre turn as she started focusing more on how well her recent film, Daaku Maharaj, was doing and the expensive jewellery she was wearing.
Urvashi pointed out the accessories that her parents had gifted her with following Daaku Maharaj's success. She further noted that she felt insecure wearing them due to the attack on Saif. In Urvashi's words:
"Daaku Maharaj ke Rs. 105 crore ke success ke baad, my mother… unhone ne mujhe gift ki diamond-studded Rolex and my father ne mujhe ye choti si mini-watch gift kari. Abhi humne 105 paar kar diya hai toh it's just a gift, but then hum confident nahi feel karenge bahar openly. We cannot wear kuch bhi. Ek insecurity ho jati hai ki anybody can attack us toh woh bohot zyada unfortunate hai."
Following Urvashi's comments, the reporter seemed to subtly guide her back to the topic of Saif and his family by asking her if she wanted to pass on any good wishes to them. Urvashi agreed and also stated that all her prayers were with them.
The clip of Urvashi Rautela's interview was soon posted to Reddit and her comments didn't go down well with netizens. One user penned, "A man almost died- look at my jewellery," while another wrote, "How self centered are you?? urvashi ji - YES." Some netizens also hilariously roped in her alleged ex, Rishab Pant, in their comments. One user wrote, "Accident Rishabh ka hua tha, chot inke dimaag ko lagi thi. If this isn't true love, I don't know what is."

Netizens also called attention to the reporter's smart and sensitive handling of the situation. On that note, one user penned, "The fact that the interviewer has more humanity and sanity to direct the question back to Saif and encouraging her to say the right things." Some even questioned whether Urvashi was putting on a front of being stupid, with one user writing, "Guys i think she knows what she's doing... She's purposely putting on this mask of stupidity otherwise how can a grown woman blabber such nonsense on camera."

For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed around 2 AM inside his own home, where he should have been safest. The altercation was allegedly the result of a botched robbery attempt. The actor was soon rushed to the hospital, and Saif's doctors later revealed that 2.5 inches of the knife was still lodged in Saif's spine when he reached the hospital, which resulted in spinal fluid leakage. He also had several other defensive wounds, but as of now, he is no longer critical. Saif is still unconscious and is being kept in the ICU for observation.
