Urvashi Rautela made India proud yet again with her fashionable appearances at Cannes 2023. However, it was her crocodile neckpiece, which she claims to be an original Cartier's iconic neckpiece that is grabbing the headlines. While a section of netizens bashed Urvashi for donning a crocodile necklace for the first day of Cannes, the actress even called out the people and expressed that she was deeply hurt. However, now a self-proclaimed fashion critic page on Instagram called it fake with facts.
Urvashi Rautela made her first outing on the red carpet of Cannes in a pink tulle gown, which was designed by Sima Couture. The outfit featured tiered layers of floral ruffle, and she accessorised her look with a Cartier neckpiece featuring two intertwined crocodiles. Now, a jewellery designer claimed that the much-talked-about necklace is a fake one. And the famous Instagram's fashion critic, Diet Sabya confirmed it.

A jewellery expert, Arundhati De Sheth first took to her Instagram stories and talked about Urvashi's viral neckpiece. She shared a video of Urvaashi talking about her crocodile jewellery. Atop the video, she asked the actress whether she is wearing the original Cartier Maria Felix crocodile necklace. If so, then who is the maker of the earrings? She wrote:
"And, who is the maker of the earrings? Clarification desperately needed! Won't get sleep."
In the next IG story, the jewellery expert shared glimpses of the original piece. She shared that Cannes in France is the home of Cartier, and wearing an ugly copy of the historic neckpiece, while representing India is shameful. Arundhati wrote:
"Going to Cannes in France. Home of @cartier- Then wearing a poor shoddy sad ugly copy of a historic piece. Allegedly representing our nation and pretending to be wearing the real thing. When it's been hastily crafted in the back of beyond. Shameful @teamurvashirautelaofficial it seems you have not done any homework. We are a land of the most special treasures and jewels that she could have worn instead - this is blatant and so sad (sic)."
