Usha sat down for an interview with Pinkvilla and revealed that during her time, there were fads of auditions. She did not name the production company, but was called to give an audition for a role. She was instructed to come to the office, where she shared that she had been auditioning for 78 years and no longer believed in giving any more auditions. Speaking of a similar incident on the sets of Gully Boy, Usha revealed how a 25-year-old boy left her furious when he called her for auditions. Usha, speaking of the young assistant, shared:

"He told me to come for an audition. I asked his age. He said 25. I told him I've been working since before your mother was married. I don't do such pointless auditions. I asked him who the director was, and he said Zoya Akhtar. I replied, 'Yes, she's a big man's daughter. Search my name on the internet, then you'll know the kind of work I've done. I don't audition. If you want me, cast me directly'."

Usha Nadkarni shares how, during an audition incident, she was not given a chair to sit

Usha compared her experience with her role in Akshay Kumar's movie, Rustom, where she had a small role to play. They had called and explained to her what she wanted to do. She was not asked to give an audition and was paid for her work. Usha feels that is how the process needed to be. However, she shared that she had a terrible experience at Kavita Chaudhary's office, where she was not even given a place to sit. Usha shared:

"A few assistant directors were sitting there. None even offered me a seat. Then one of them said the role I came for no longer existed, and instead asked me to read from a book. I told him I'd read it, took the book, and threw it right in front of him. My head just spun. How dare these inexperienced kids ask me to prove myself? I won't tolerate such nonsense."

Usha Nadkarni shares why her son does not stay with her

Usha Nadkarni has been loved by her fans for her evergreen performance as 'Usha Tai's mother-in-law in Ektaa Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta. Usha workwise was last seen as a contestant on the sets of the cooking reality show, Celebrity MasterChef India. Usha lives in Mumbai alone and is known for her work in the Hindi and Marathi theatre. The son of the veteran actress does not stay with her. The 79-year-old actress stated:
