After Ahmedabad Plane Crash, Uttarakhand Helicopter Crashes Near Kedarnath, Allegedly Claims 7 Lives

The tragedy that was caused by the Ahmedabad plane crash has been piercing through our hearts. 279 people lost their lives, and it was one of the most deadly crashes that India witnessed in 10 years. Amid the investigation being underway, another crash happened, allegedly claiming 7 lives. While the reason for the AI171 crash isn't known yet, the recent helicopter crash was allegedly caused by bad weather and dense fog, although not confirmed.

The rescue team is in operation currently, but the challenging terrain is making the situation even more difficult. A helicopter, along with seven people, including crew and pilgrims, was travelling from Kedarnath to Gaurikund on June 15, 2025. As per the reports, the helicopter went missing shortly after it took off, and later, after the investigation, its crash site was located. If the reports are to be believed, the helicopter crashed into a remote hilly area in Rudraprayag district, between Gaurikund and Trijuginarayan.

This incident again raised concerns about the helicopter service, which is one of the most important forms of transportation for Char Dham Yatra in the hilly areas. The crash of June 15, 2025, marked the fourth helicopter crash on the Char Dham pilgrimage route of this month, with the last one taking place on June 7, 2025. A Marathi News portal revealed that 7 people lost their lives, but it's not confirmed by the official sources yet. Notably, in the last helicopter crash of June 7, 2025, all the passengers could survive, and the pilot was slightly injured.

The confirmation of the number of dead people still awaits for the crash of June 15, 2025. As per ANI, 7 people were present there, including the pilot and an infant. Amar Ujala reported that Maharashtra-based family, Rajkumar Jaiswal, his wife Shraddha, and their infant son Kashi died in the crash, along with  Vikram Singh Rawat, local resident Vinod Negi, passenger Tushti Singh, and Captain Rajiv.

Recently, the nation has been shocked by the deadly plane crash that took place on June 12, 2025. The AI171 took off, and within a few seconds into the air, it started facing issues. Later, it lost control and crashed into the B.J. Medical College Hostel and instantly caught fire. This horrific incident claimed 279 lives, including the crew, passengers and even some students and locals. Only one person, who was sitting next to the emergency exit of 11A, could escape the deadly incident.

The investigation into this crash is currently going on, and the investigation on the Black Box is also underway. However, several aviation experts have already shared some possible reasons that might have caused the crash. As per the experts, the crash might have happened due to the engine's failure, or birds might have entered the wing flaps, leading it to face issues and crash near the Medical College hostel. The plane crash has left every other person saddened with the intensity it carries, as so many innocent lives were lost, some of them being students while some were parents, and even the entire family of a few were finished in this deadly plane crash.
