Varun Dhawan is the younger son of ace director, David Dhawan and his loving wife, Karuna Dhawan. Just like his father, Varun too, made a name for himself in the industry. Now, his upcoming film, Bawaal's trailer was launched and his massive fanbase is absolutely loving it. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and will have Varun along with Janhvi Kapoor in the leading roles and will start streaming on the OTT platform, Amazon Prime from July 21, 2023. In the film, Varun will be seen in the character of a history teacher, based in Kanpur.
During Varun Dhawan's upcoming film, Bawaal's trailer launch in Dubai, the actor made some startling revelations about his father, David Dhawan and brother, Rohit Dhawan. He shared that the school, where the film was shot was the same one where his father, David was a student in his childhood. Apart from the emotional revelation, Varun also revealed that as a kid, he used to study very hard during his board exams. However, he also mentioned the reason behind it was that he wanted to beat his brother, Rohit for the tenth standard exams.
For the unversed, David has directed his son, Varun in three movies, Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2 and Coolie No. 1. Earlier, in an interview with the Mid-Day, Varun had talked about working with his father, David and also revealed the things he experienced while in the process. The young actor stated that working with his father was exciting and called David his 'safe place' to work in. Varun had retorted:
"Dad is the king of comedy. He has tackled the genre for three decades and has found success in each decade. When you are working with such an accomplished director who knows the genre and its details so well, you know [you're in good hands]. I feel safe when I work with my father."
A while back, Anupam Kher paid a visit to his close friend, David Dhawan's home and recalled all the past days' memories. Taking to his social media handles, Anupam had shared a short video of him and David's meeting. Along with the video, Anupam wrote that he and David have been friends for forty years. Further in the caption, the veteran actor wrote about how they managed to have their friendship when Anupam used to walk, and David used to ride his Lambretta scooter. In the same caption, Anupam recalled how Varun used to move around in shorts and even less than that and also thanked the Dhawan family for their immense love.
