Varun Dhawan is grabbing headlines once again, but this time, it’s not for a movie or fitness routine. The actor just made a grand entry into Mumbai’s luxury real estate scene. The Baby John star purchased not one, but two ultra-luxurious apartments in the city’s celebrity hotspot, Juhu, for a whopping Rs. 86.92 crore!
As per reports, Varun Dhawan recently purchased two apartments in one of the most premium locations in Mumbai, a high-end project named Twenty by D'DECOR. Varun teamed up with his mom, Karuna David Dhawan, to buy one apartment on the 6th floor, and bought another one on the seventh floor of the same building with his wife, Natasha Dalal.
Talking more about the luxurious project, it is already a high-demand property among Bollywood’s A-listers. The project boasts 3BHK and 4BHK residences with premium amenities. As per reports from Square Yards, Varun’s new apartment on the sixth floor, which he purchased with his mom, spans 4,617 sq. ft. and features four car parking spaces, a staff quarter, and even two basement storage units. This property came at a hefty price tag of Rs. 42.40 crore.
On the other hand, the one Varun purchased with his wife is slightly larger, with a carpet area of 5,112 sq. ft., and cost Rs. 44.52 crore. It also includes similar luxe perks like parking for four, a staff quarter, and additional storage units. Both acquisitions come at a combined total of Rs. 86.29 crore, and their transactions were registered in January 2025.
Just a few days before his momentous purchase, Varun Dhawan reflected on his humble beginnings in a heartfelt conversation with Shubhankar Mishra. The actor revealed that he grew up in a modest one-bedroom apartment. He shared how his elder brother, Rohit Dhawan, and his parents, David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan, always ensured he never felt deprived despite their middle-class background. Reflecting on their financial situation, he explained that although his father was a successful filmmaker in the 1990s, the earnings were not extravagant, as salaries during that time were comparatively modest. "My brother and I have shared one room for 7-8 years, and it was the best time of my life. We used to sleep on the same bed, and I would hold my brother’s hand and sleep."
Varun Dhawan has been associated with the industry since his childhood, courtesy of his father, producer, David Dhawan. However, despite being a part of the industry, their family lived a middle-class life, even though David had delivered numerous hits during the 1990s. Varun shared how a producer's life is extremely different from a director's life. He added that his father was a director, and when he was growing up, people in his father's profession did not earn much.
