Did you know Vidisha had hidden the fact that she is married for almost four years, and nobody had ever doubted her? In an interview with ETimes, the actress opened up about the same and shared that she didn't talk about her marriage earlier as her hubby, Sayak doesn't like to be in the limelight. Adding that they had a love marriage, Vidisha said:
“I didn’t hide the fact that I was married. I just didn’t speak about it in the media because Sayak isn’t from this industry. He is a simple guy and doesn’t enjoy being in the limelight. He’s from Kolkata and we had a love marriage. Though there isn’t any specific reason, I wasn’t too keen on marrying a guy from the industry.”
Further in the interview, Vidisha talked about her first meeting with her hubby, Sayak and shared how their friendship had culminated into marriage. She revealed that it was Sayak, who had proposed to her for marriage and added that she had asked him to talk to her parents first. Sharing the details, the actress said:
“In 2013, while I was busy acting in the South, I was chosen to be the face of a corporate house. The hectic schedule, which required me to travel a lot, resulted in an unexpected break from acting. Eventually, I joined the core team of the corporate house and worked with them for two years. That’s when I met Sayak in Mumbai. I had a crush on him but he never reciprocated. It was only during the last six months of the job that he proposed to me directly for marriage. Like a snob, I told him to talk to my parents and only if they agreed, would we tie the knot. We got married a year-and-a-half later.”

Vidisha had stopped acting after she had started her corporate job, and it was her hubby, Sayak, who had encouraged her to return to face the camera. She shared that since her hubby travels a lot, she doesn't get to spend much time with him. Talking about their long-distance marriage, Vidisha revealed that they too have misunderstandings between them, but it is the trust that they have for each other, which makes their bond stronger. She concluded:
“For the first year after tying the knot, we lived together. But now he is mostly away, as his job requires him to travel across the country. He visits me for five days every month. There are several challenges a couple faces in a long-distance marriage. The biggest one is the fact that your partner is not around when you need him the most. In fact, we have tiffs sometimes when I ask him to relocate to Mumbai and be with me for good. But then he, too, has to grow in his career like me. What makes our bond strong is the trust we have in each other.”
For the unversed, Vidisha had replaced actress, Nehha Pendse on the show, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain!
