It was on December 14, 2012, when Vidya Balan exchanged wedding vows with the love of her life, Siddharth Roy Kapur. Since Vidya is a Tamilian and Siddharth is a Punjabi, their wedding was a perfect blend of two rituals and traditions. Vidya shares a friendly camaraderie with Siddharth's brothers, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Aditya Roy Kapur. With everyone working in the industry, the filmy discussions dominate the family gatherings.

Vidya Balan is busy with the promotions of her upcoming film, Sherni, which is scheduled to release on Amazon Prime on June 18. Vidya hosted an 'Ask Me Anything' session on Instagram on June 7, where she was asked to post her favourite picture with her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur and her brother-in-law, Aditya Roy Kapur. Vidya posted a throwback picture with Aditya and Siddharth, in which the trio opted for an all-black look.
When one of her fans asked her about her favourite dish, Vidya Balan posted a picture of bread pudding, made by her mother-in-law, Salome Roy Kapur. Revealing that she loves her sasu ma's bread pudding, Vidya answered the question of her favourite dish as "Bread pudding made by Sasu Ma" followed by a heart emoji.
In a throwback interview with the DNA, Vidya Balan was asked if she cooks. To which, the actress had retorted, "Uhh? No!" Vidya's brother-in-law, Kunaal Roy Kapur had also revealed, in an interview with the Mid-Day, that though the actress is extremely family-oriented, she can't cook. Kunaal had said, "She can't cook. Not that it's important for a woman to cook." Praising Vidya, Kunaal had added, "Vidya is like just another regular person who likes to talk about her work. And she is equally passionate about her family."

In an interview with the Filmfare, Vidya Balan had spoken about Siddharth Roy Kapur's presence in her life and how her family lights up her life. She was quoted as saying, "He is the best thing that has happened to me. Nazar na lage. I am blessed with the kind of family I am born into, my parents, my sister and brother-in- law, my niece and nephew and of course my second set of parents, my in-laws. They light up my life. If they make me 'me', Siddharth let's me be me."
When her film, Tumhari Sulu became a hit, Vidya Balan had credited her family and husband for being her strongest pillars of strength. Vidya, in an interview with the Filmfare, had stated, "Of course, my parents have been the strongest pillars of strength for me and then my sister and brother-in-law, my second set of parents. They remained optimistic. Also, being married to Siddharth gave me that perspective. He made me realise that nothing is permanent. I've read that a successful person is, who goes from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm."
