Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was born on December 26, 1973, in Haryana, in a middle-class family. As per multiple reports, while Vikas Divyakirti's father was a renowned professor of Hindi literature at Maharishi Dayanand University, his mother was a PGT teacher in a school in Bhiwani.

If the reports are to be believed, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti has two elder brothers; his eldest brother is a software engineer in the US, and his other brother is a DIG at the CBI. Talking about the educational qualifications of professor, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti, he completed his schooling at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, which is in Haryana's Bhiwani district. For graduation, he took admission in Delhi University's Zakir Husain Delhi College, from where he completed his BA in Hindi language. Apart from this, he also pursued MA, MPhil, and PhD as he wanted to explore the subjects. Not only this, but Vikas Divyakirti even has a postgraduate degree in English and Hindi. With such a strong educational background, he is one of the highly qualified professors for UPSC exams in India.

When Vikas Divyakirti appeared in UPSC due to peer pressure and cleared it in his first attempt

If the reports are to be believed, after completing his professional education, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti started teaching students at Delhi University. While he was teaching students at Delhi University, Vikas Divyakirti started preparing for UPSC due to peer pressure from his family and relatives. However, to everyone's surprise, he cleared the UPSC exam in his first attempt with AIR 384 in 1996. After clearing India's toughest exam, Vikas Divyakirti was posted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and worked there for some months before eventually leaving the post.

The reason why Dr. Vikas Divyakirti left his job as an IAS officer to become a professor

After working for a few months, Vikas Divyakirti understood that teaching was something with which he could make an even bigger impact on society. Hence, he decided to leave his job as an IAS officer. It was obviously shocking news to his parents and relatives, who were on cloud nine after he cleared the UPSC exam. But this time, Vikas Divyakirti was persistent towards his dream job, which was teaching. As a result, in 1999, he opened the Drishti IAS coaching centre in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar.

Dr. Vikas Divyakirti reportedly opened his first coaching centre, Drishti IAS, in Delhi, and in the following years, four more centres were opened in different parts of the country. As per multiple reports, Drishti IAS has a strong record of delivering exceptional students to India's civil services. For instance, in the year 2022, more than 216 students cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Talking about the fee of Drishti IAS coaching centre, according to several reports, it is around Rs. 1 lakh. However, the fee varies from course to course, and one can visit their official website in order to know more about the fee structure in detail.

When Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was bashed on the internet for allegedly comparing Goddess Sita to 'ghee licked by a dog'

It was around November 2022 when a small clip from Dr. Vikas Divyakirti's lecture was uploaded on social media in which he could be spotted quoting that Lord Ram told Mata Sita that he didn't fight the war with Ravana for her but instead for the pride of his family. Vikas Divyakirti also added that Lord Ram indirectly compared Goddess Sita to a ghee licked by a dog. He said:

"I did not fight the battle for you, I did it for the clan and as far as you are concerned, it is like as no one uses the ghee licked by a dog."

The video went viral on the internet, and soon the renowned professor, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti started getting a lot of hate on social media. However, soon in an interview with Lallantop, Vikas Divyakirti addressed the controversy and shared that whatever he had said in the video about Goddess Sita and Lord Ram is mentioned in Purushottam Agarwal's book, Sanskriti: Varchswa Aur Pratirodh. He said:

"He has been a member of the UPSC which means we can quote him in our studies. Now the question is what do we do because in UPSC such questions come like evaluate feminism in the context of Tulsidas. And Tulsidas omitted those parts in his Ramcharitmanas and proved to be progressive."

Apart from working as a professor, Dr. Vikas Divyakirti also made his debut as an actor in Bollywood with the film, 12th Fail. However, he played himself in the film and proved that he is a multi-talented person as he looked so natural in the film.
