Vikas Sethi was one of the few television actors in India, who were insanely popular among the Indian audience, despite not having the longest filmography. He worked in approximately just 15-16 television shows, but the kind of love he received is something that even many established stars crave. It was on September 8, 2024, when the actor's massive fanbase suffered a huge mental blow after reading the headlines that goes like, 'Vikas Sethi passed away at the age of 48'.
Yes! At the mere age of 48, Vikas Sethi passed away, and the reason behind his sudden death was a cardiac arrest. The popular television actor joined the unfortunate list of famous celebrities, who have passed away due to cardiac arrest. From Kavita Chaudhary, Rituraj Singh, Puneet Rajkumar, Raju Srivastav, Rajiv Kapoor, Sidharth Shukla to Krishnakumar Kunnath (KK) and now Vikas Sethi, we have lost so many celebrities to this silent epidemic.

After Vikas Sethi's untimely demise, his wife, Jhanvi Sethi talked to PTI and shared that they were going to Nashik from Mumbai to attend a family function. The doting wife revealed that Vikas was feeling uneasy and dehydrated on the way but refused to visit to the hospital. However, upon reaching to Jhanvi's maternal home, Vikas started vomiting and experiencing loose motions. Hence, they immediately called a doctor at home, who checked him and informed the family about his passing around six in the morning. The actor passed away in his sleep in the night, and his post-mortem was conducted at Mumbai's Cooper Hospital.
Vikas Sethi was born on May 12, 1976, in Chandigarh, and from an early age, he was interested in acting. Just like every outsider in the film industry, he faced a lot of rejections during his struggling phase but he waited for his turn patiently. Finally, Vikas made his acting debut in Deepak Tijory's erotic drama comedy, Oops! The young actor played the character of a male stripper who fell in love with his best friend's mother. The film tanked at the box office, but Vikas caught the eye of several producers and directors.
For the uninitiated, before making his debut in Oops! Vikas Sethi did a small cameo in Deewaanapan and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. There's no denying saying that it was his cameo in K3G as Kareena Kapoor's character, 'Poo's boyfriend, Robbie' is one of his most popular works. The actor looked dashing and gave tough competition to Hrithik Roshan when it comes to looks and style. In 2019, Vikas played a major role in the Telugu blockbuster, ISmart Shankar, which made him a popular name in the south industry.

Despite working in some Bollywood films, it was in the television industry that Vikas Sethi succeeded and left a lasting mark. The late actor became a household name when he essayed the role of 'Abir' in Ekta Kapoor's television show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. After its massive success, he appeared in a series of shows, Kahiin To Hoga, Kyun Hota Hai Pyar, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Hamari Betiyoon Ka Vivaah, Uttaran, Geet Hui Sabse Parayee, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, Sasural Simar Ka, and many more.
Moving on to Vikas Sethi's personal life, he got married for the first time in his life to a lady named Amita. According to several reports, Vikas' first wife, Amita, was a cabin crew member by profession. The ex-couple was leading a happy married life and even participated in the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 3 in 2007. Unfortunately, as time passed, Vikas and Amita divorced each other after facing irreconcilable issues in their marriage.
After his divorce from Amita, Vikas Sethi moved on in life and fell in love with Jhanvi Sethi. The couple met each other through a common friend, and after becoming friends and building a bond, they got married on February 21, 2018. At the time of his second marriage, Vikas was 42, while Jhanvi's age is unknown. On June 21, 2021, Vikas and Jhanvi embraced parenthood after the latter gave birth to twin boys.
Vikas Sethi became a father at the age of 45, and the actor was in one of the best phases of his life. Unfortunately, almost three years after the birth of his twin sons, he passed away due to a cardiac arrest. The moment his fans and well-wishers got to know about his untimely demise, the first concern that crossed their minds was about his wife, Jhanvi and their twin sons, who are just three at the time of his passing. The entire television is on a standstill as Vikas was renowned as a television star, who was famous for portraying negative characters. It's impossible to imagine the pain Vikas' parents, Jhanvi, and his loved ones are going through at the moment.
We hope Vikas Sethi is in peace, and may god give all the strength in the world to his wife and children, who are going to carry this pain throughout their lives.
