At approximately 12:45 p.m., Vince was driving a 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS southbound on the LA Crest Highway in the San Gabriel Mountains. Upon exiting a tunnel, Vince's red Ferrari veered off the twisted roadway for unknown reasons and struck a concrete barrier. A witness shared a video of the crash with the authorities, showing the car slamming into the barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames.

Vince Zampella got trapped inside the vehicle as it was engulfed in fire and died at the scene. He was ejected from the car during the collision, as revealed by the California Highway Patrol.
